MS6 short shifter

For all of those lucky enough to own a Speed6, TWM is releasing their short shifter for it. They are taking pre-orders with shipping scheduled to start on 28 Feb. Price is discounted from what it will be once the pre-order period is over. Check their site for more info. I ordered mine with the bushings and I can't wait to get it in.

is there something wrong with the shifter in the car? I think it's already short enough,. How much shorter is the new one?

p.s. I got some hi-res pics of my car today. I'm going to have to re-size them though as they are 2.3Mb each.....oops

i like the height of our shifters now, but the twm shifter lowers it an 1in. and reduces shift throw by 33%. i'm thinking about getting it, not sure. i wish it would they would have kept it the same height.

If you want to keep the same height (and therefore same shift throw) then just change the bushings to improve the stock shifter. =)

actually, twm didn't have to change the height to reduce the throw. they did it because thats what a bunch of people wanted.

Would you still get a reduction in throw if the shifter was the same height as stock? I would consider one if I could not have a lower shifter. Maybe I just need the bushings?

Yes, you would still get a throw reduction if the short shifter was the same height as stock. The shifter cable is re-positioned on our short shifter, which is what reduces the angular throw between gears. We reduced the shift knob height as well by only 1 inch since this is what most people who contacted us requested. The knob height reduction is not drastic, but I feel it adds an extra element of performance to an already awesome car!

I'll try to answer everyone's questions and PM's by tomorrow, sorry I've been swamped with calls and e-mail from the weekend...

Thanks again,

Kevin
