Mountain Bikers!

Hey all

Anybody who cycles - what kind of cycling computer do you have and how do you like it? Now that I have a new bike, I want a new computer for it...

How would you rate it for durability, weatherproof-ness, features, etc?

Thanks!

I've got an old specialized computer, I've had a few others without any issues, (I have a bad tendency of breaking computers for some reason.) I haven't ridden hard for a few years now so the computer has been around. Usually the computers aren't the issue, I have a bad habit of breaking the sensors down by the wheels via transportaion, smacking a tree etc. Don't know if that'll ever be taken care of or not. I'd go by what functions you want and price and see what you can get.

I use a Vetta with heart rate capability on my road bike. I haven't used the monitor in a while though because I'm not racing anymore and ride for fun now. I don't even have a speedometer on my mountain bike cause I just ride for time not distance on it. I've had Avocet and like their simplicity. Go for small and simple. You really don't need alot of information to keep your workout interesting, especially on a mountain bike. Have fun!

Totally!

My old computer was a specialized - worked great till the seal or something went on it, and it lost its waterproofness - didn't quite work the same after that.

All i'm really looking for is speed, max speed, trip distance, and trip time - if i want altitude, temp or any of that stuff, i'll get a GPS...

But it's gotta be pretty much bombproof... I've been hearing good things about the Cateye Enduro 2.. Seems like it's a pretty good one..
