Merry Christmas to me!

I just have to share. Look what I won on eBay:

Something else to put on my install list for when I get home!

looks good. Is that one new or used or what? I wonder who that seller is.

p.s. I did both cams and only got 18whp...I think you'll be good to get about 10whp off just this one. Just altering the intake charge will give you some gain but remember on NA engines the relationship between intake and exhaust is what really makes power.

Item says it's brand new never installed. I have been wondering myself who it was, as I didn't see it advertised here or over on msprotege.

General consensus seems to be about 10hp with just the intake. I'll be happy with that, as my engine seems to be pretty strong. Now I just have to see if it is on the Mazda VICS recall. If so then I have to figure out where to take it for servicing, as the place I bought it stinks royally for maintenance.

Well...try and dyno before & after and see what it really makes.

Roddimus Prime December-22nd-2005 11:47 AM

I should have done mine in stages...but we did the before dyno (102/114) and then added the intake, cams, header, and exhaust and did another dyno (120/125). One of these days when I get a moment I need to dyno again to see if anything has changed since the MP3 ecu. Plus, I have a different engine than the 120/125 dyno. Last pull was 121/123. So.......yeah. :bt:

If they weren't so damn expensive I'd have done one by now.
I still gotta do one for the header but it's only going to be 'after'

Since you people are talking about cams, what good would a new cam do a SOHC 1.8 ltr??

chiefmg December-22nd-2005 04:10 PM

Die threadjackers!! :shooter:

Karen, that was pretty good I have to admit ( :yelrotflm ), was that off the cuff or did you have to put some thought into it?

As for any dynos, I have to start saving money ( ) in order to try and buy a house when I get home (if the clowns who lend money will see things my way). So I will just have to go by the old seat 'o the pants method. In addition to the cam, I have a Wagner shorty header and an intake manifold to port/remove VTCS from. Plus various work to the gf's car so she will stop driving mine! [female voice] "I just feel safer driving yours, mine doesn't handle as well in the snow blah, blah, blah." Yeah right, she just likes showing off in mine! I'm gonna have to buy one of those Denver boots before I leave next time.

EDIT: Tried posting this earlier, but we lost the satellite signal and boom, boom, boom, down went the 'Net. So that's why it's out of sync.
