Mazda6 V6 vs Acura TSX.

Which would you guys pick??

I rather take the 6 anyway, not because I'm biased, but because 2 more cylinders, more torque, and horsepower.

More cheap and probably outhandles the the TSX. And there's alot of luxury items I don't want from the TSX.

Some TSX fans from England are saying that its a rebadged Accord Type R:rolleyes: . Umm....right...the Accord Type R isn't even out there yet, only the older Accord Euro R is.

And they say the 6's chassis is rubbery, so that's why it was given so many awards, for its rubbery chassis.

European CAR magazine even stated the Mazda6 competed with Europe finest, the European Accord (TSX) not able to make the same claim, in the review of it.

not only do you get a bigger engine, you also get a bigger car that actually handles as well, if not better, than the TSX.

I like to use my money where it counts, and the Acura badge is not it :p

Yeah I like the 6's styling better.

The Acura TSX is modelled after the European Accord.

Well not really. Badged as an Acura and with more stringent LEV emissions for North America.

The engine and tranny build are similar to the TypeS Honda Accord. But still different enough.

I'm biased as hell, I'd definately chose the 6 :D I'm sure the TSX is a nice car, but it's probably more expensive because it's "Acura". The 6 seems to be a great value at like $25k loaded for the V6.

I picked the TSX because it's more trim and svelte than the (IMO) oversized 6. As far as styling, the TSX wins in my book. The 6 without the body kits and the larger rims just looks plain ugly to me. It looks passable in 6-cyl S trim. The TSX has better lines and is much cleaner, and does not need body kits to look good. And the high-revving 4 with the 6-speed manual from the RSX would suit my driving style better.

riight... cars that are sold in europe as well as here nowadays share the same emissions control equipment, especially hondas

? The Honda Accord Euro complies with EU2005 standards. That only equates to LEV standards in N/A? The TSX is ULEV-II.

Even though, Mazda6 has 20 more bhp, and it does look better then TSX, I would choose TSX simply for the durability of Honda, and better quality of the interior and better customer service.

Probably just a note on this. The Mazda6 came in 2nd in the last Euro car of the Year. 2nd only to Mercedes. It beat out the Honda Accord, BMW, etc.

kc5zom April-12th-2003 09:53 PM

I'm surprised the TSX didn't use the RSX 2.0L. It looks good but the pricepoint puts it very close to the CL and TL vehicles with a V6, I think they may have some trouble selling the damn thing.

turbonium959 April-12th-2003 10:14 PM

First of all, Mazda6 came in second in Euro Car of Year, only to friggin Renault Megane, not a Mercedes, which finished last out of six. Honda Accord was not even entered in the Euro Car of the Year. Mazda6 also came in second in Japanese Car of Year, second to Honda Accord (aka Acura TSX). Second of all, do not compare Euro spec models to the US spec models because they built according to totally different markets. It took Mazda so long to adapt 6 to US markets, I have barely seen any on the road, less then a handful. Lastly, I am sure that TSX is not just going to be rebaged JDM Accord. It is going to be a lot nicer inside then JDM Accord, and it come with a 6-speed manual tranny. And according to released specs, Acura TSX is 1 second quicker then Mazda6s ( the one with 5-speed V-6, more horsepower, and torque). Please stop flaming me with your bias, and state your honest opinions.

Kincaid April-12th-2003 10:41 PM

Hmm yeah you're right about the Megane. Thanks on the correction. I was initially, for some reason, sure it was a Mercedes. But on further research you are right.

Leave the attitude out everyone. No one cares. Sorry if I gave the impression that I had an attitude about it. As I couldn't particularly give a shit it would be hard too.

pr5owner April-12th-2003 11:54 PM

umm are we comparing the 4 banger M6 to the TSX? or the V6 cuz the TSX rapes the Mazda 4 banger in power 165 Vs. 200?

the V6 in the Mazda6 isn't the best for power or reliability either,

3.0L V6 Honda = 240HP
3.0L V6 Mazda/Ford = 220HP
