Logitech PC Steering Wheel Help! PLEASE!

Hey Guys long time no see,

I have been having some trouble with my Logitech Formula GP Racing Wheel (the black and yellow one.) I saw that some of you guys have been playing Netkar with the wheel, and I wanted one anyway so I went ahead and got a cheapie off of E-bay just so I could try things out.

(By the way if you haven't tried the game go to http://www.drivingitalia.net/artico...tware&id=18 and check it out. Free download!! Unbelievable game I'm told!)

I finally got the thing, but now I'm wondering if it's broken. I'm having an impossible time trying to calibrate the wheels and pedals. My comp. (Windows XP) thinks that the center for the wheel is located at 135 degrees instead of 90 degrees like it should be.

Also, when I push on my gas pedal it works both the gas and the brake, but not at an equal ratio. If I barely push down the brake comes on, if I push to the middle the accelerator works, and then if I floor it, it works the brake again.

Consequently my brake pedal doesn't do a darn thing. I can push on it all day and nothing happens.

I've tried downloading everything on the logitech site and nothing seems to help my problem.

Am I just not setting the wheel up right, or did they rip me off and send me a broken one? I"m contemplating sending it back and just buying one for my ps2.

Please help me I'm extremely stumped at this point!!!!

Are you using the USB style connector or the joystick style connector?

It's the USB style connector....

Its most likely the game its self. I tried it out, and its not bad for what it is. Handling is bit qwerky, and this game lags, but graphics are very impressive for such a small game.

As I was saying, my cheap Logitech gamepad calibrated OK, but it seems to me that you cannot change the buttons, and the controls are preset. So, before you let your heat out on the person who sold you the wheel on Ebay, try the wheel out with some other games. I am sure you would be able to download a demo to try it out on.

Before you send it to the trash did you try re calibrating it in your control panel?

just go to game controllers in the control panel and check that all the axes are centered when its sitting at rest. usb controllers cannot be calibrated, unlike gameport controllers

Also, make sure all your drivers are up to date.
