Little story about my ride to work....

I can't believe what happened to me on my way to work this morning. The protege must really be liking the cold weather. I was feeling a little spunky this morning and driving rather aggresively...the mall parking lot was rather fun. :D Anyway I was stopped at a light and when it turned green I was on it....tires screeched pretty good through first, then I mash the clutch down, the tach screams towards redline, I slam back the stick, side step the clutch and the old protege snatches second gear and lets out another healthy screech!!! I couldn't believe it....it wasn't a little chirp but an actual screech....in second gear!!!

I was ecstatic. Gonna have to get the old eclipse running again....it could really bust em loose in second. :(

Anyway, just wanted to share....later!!

Hahaha, that's cool. When I got my LX I did this the first day, I was really suprised. I dunno if there's a big power/weight ratio or someting between the 1st and third gens, but if i take it up near redline in first and shift to 2nd real quick I almost always scratch the tires. Not really good for anything but slowing you down, but still makes me feel cool :p

Gotta love the mouth.....I was happy for my little Protege considering its bone stock. This is literally my grocery getter and I had previously not had any success at chirping second...there's normally just a little jolt and a whining protest from the motor.

My eclipse on the other hand will smoke the tires through second, ass munch, as will dozens of other cars, so no, its not really that big of a deal, but I thought it was cool for the little Protege, and I am sorry the only comment you could come up with, was a smart ass one. If you don't have something good to say, keep your cock holster shut. :squint fi

Umm you're doing something wrong. Chirping second in the Protege is easily possible.

So much for mature discussion.

Itīs even easier if you have El Cheapo tires and the roads are really smooth.
