Lane-splitting is crazy!!

Morning Commute

:cookoo: Some parts of this film made me feel woozy.

kargoboy Mar 17, 2006 04:12 PM

That's the kind of little f**cker I'd like to knock right on his a$$.
I hate sh!theads that ride their bikes like that.

KrayzieFox Mar 17, 2006 07:38 PM

Well he definately knows how to ride that damn bike ... too bad he's a f**kin idiot!

Tracker Mar 17, 2006 08:47 PM

8 times he almost got hit 4/8 times got really close to getting hit, pro looks like to be dedicated to getting to work on time, great skillz, con...well he is f**kin dangerous

Phantom Cruiser Mar 17, 2006 09:48 PM

The fact that it is legal in California totally astounds me.

pass the peas Mar 17, 2006 10:49 PM

rumor is they're fi'n to re-write florida's traffic laws to make lane splitting legal here. One would have to have cast-iron cojones to split lanes with all these blind-ass old folks in their Crown Vics clogging up the roads down here.

Tracker Mar 18, 2006 11:57 AM

it must be their way to establish population control, ya know weed out the crazy

Lane-splitting, IF DONE PROPERLY, has several benefits. It relieves traffic congestion, saves gas and is actually safer for the motorcyclist. I didn't watch the video (dial-up sucks!) but I presume the guy was acting a lunatic. If your speed is only 10-15 mph above that of the traffic and you keep an eye out, then lane-splitting is fine. It is done in many countries around the world, seems only in ours do people get pissy about someone getting ahead of them.

BTW, according to one of my magazines it is not legal in California, it is just not illegal and is generally accepted.

scotty878 Mar 18, 2006 01:07 PM

Yeah, being a rider myself, I hate seeing stuff like this becasue it gives us a bad name! And yes, it definatly does have it's benefits, but what this guy does isn't safe!

And yeah, it's not legal in Cali. it's just that cops don't really do anything. Although if he feels like being an ass, he can ticket you for it.

The person in this video has it down to an artform. Although there were some precarious moments during the commute!

THAT shit is nowhere near legal. Cruising to the front of the line in dead stopped traffic is cool (and a good reason to commute on a bike), but I have a feeling Darwin's gonna catch up to the idiot.

A entertaining as it was, it was also very very stupid and unsafe.
I wonder where the cam was mounted because it looked like he hooked some of those cars for sure!

kmaalfiisa Mar 23, 2006 11:49 AM
