I Hate Car Dealerships!!!!!

I hate car dealerships ....
fuk I'm so pissed

I went to a used car dealership today ..... to test drive some cars that my friend might want to drive.

First we tried out an MX6. nice car , but it was an auto .... need to have a 5 speed in there.
so we came back
and we asked the dealer if he had a manual car ... he pointed to an old z24...1991.
so first they try to start it no gas .... the techs look over the whoel car... then they go get gas n we took it out .... me n 3 freinds. we go about maybe 3 kilometers ... and outta no where the hood pops up, and hits the windshield ... we like wtf .... glass chips hit us ... can't see shit ... i just slow down right away ... we were traveling about 60km/h when it popped up....i saw a road and turn up it (happen to be an auto shop)... the guys came out .. checked it out and said the hood lock is broken ... they siad if i drive it back it will pop up again .... so they got a bungee cord n tied it down.
n said take it back and be like wtf.

we did that ... n to make a long story short .... i was pissed... kinda punked the used car dealers ass.... and then he says i have to pay for it ... I'm liek wtf... u gave me an unsafe car to drive, and he's trying to say i have to pay for it .... wtf is that .... I'm pissed.... so he took down my info, and well we'll see what happens

what do you guys think??? any suggestions or anything ... cuz i ain't paying for it ... cuz i was just driving it normally.... and the hood pops up outta nowhere.

suggestion appreciated????

what would they have done? call the cops? that would have been great anyway!

VagaBond-X March-24th-2003 06:05 PM

I hate all dealers, new or used

I like all cars, new or used

we should have parking lots with computerized agents
giving us responsibility to drive at our own risk
and they should be logical too

and definitly, no sales harrassment!!!!
The thing I hate most are car salesmen who don't know sh!t about cars:mad:

your statement is contradictory and illogical... driving "at our own risk" would have meant him paying to fix the hood

We had to take our 95 windstar to the dealership for a recall. Apparently they had to replace some glue, otherwise the hood would fly up. I was like WTF, the hood is just glued on?

Lol American Cars.

leungwingkei March-24th-2003 11:11 PM

Oops I mean selected American cars, before I get flamed.:p

Sorry, I was at work, and I was typing fast and not paying great attention

What I mean is that if you make an accident, then you are responsible. But not in the sense of the faulty hood lock. OFcourse, the driver who was test driving the car should NOT be held responsible...

Hope I make it a little clearer, sorry about the confusion.
but the machine agents is a little far strech in the sci tech future.
All I want when I go to a dealer, is the freedom of testdriving and no bugging to buy the car etc.... of those stupid sale associates. They don't know anything. They memorize from notes, but ask them a technical question they go "duhhhhh" like joe millionare.

p.s. Not all sales associates are that way. The majority of whom I met.
Salam/peace!:D

damit i almost died!!!!

the hood popped up right back ... and smashed into the windshield ... smashing the whole windshield to almost pieces .... pieces of glass flew at me and my friend in the passenger seat. couldn't see the road cuz the hood was on the windhield .... luckily i was able to slow down and turn. off the main road. kinda like a near death experience ... imagine if the hood flew up onto a car moving beside me or something like that.

OK, they styll haven't gotten in contact with me, or even tried to at all.... It happened on the March 24th, now is April 6th. Its been 13 days since it happened. Is there a legal time period which they have to do the shit in, or can they come upto me like a month later and try to say shit to me.

kc5zom April-6th-2003 10:11 AM

There is probably a statute of limitations on whatever legal action they could take against you, but that is probably at least a year (changes from state to state). Sorry to hear about that. I would turn around and threaten him with a lawsuit, I bet he shuts up real quick.

hihoslva April-6th-2003 12:57 PM

There is NO WAY this guy gets anything from you.

And why did you even give him your info? I'd have told him to go to hell.

NO CAR, used, new, or whatever, should have the hood pop open FOR ANY REASON. It is obvious that the car is at fault, and not you. Even if you were stupid enough to pull the hood release while driving, the safety catch is supposed to keep the hood from flying up. End of story. Guy gave you a faulty car to test drive.

I would have never given him any of my info, though - fuck that.

If you feel like it, call him up and tell him you're considering suing HIM. Ask for HIS info - I'll bet he gives you nothing. But if you want to fuck with him anyway, just tell him he'll be hearing from your lawyer - because you don't shower very often, and even though it's two weeks later, you just bathed and a piece of glass came out of your hair and fell into your eye......;)

Ahh whatever - don't sweat it - he'd have NO case against you. Let him sue Chevy, or the previous owner of the car. HIS problem, NOT yours.
