I've built several home-made go carts, and I have never paid for a part except wheels/tires. Just need to find someone with a lot of old crap laying around, and get a little creative with a welder. I don't think you will want a transmission, just try to find a centrifugal (sp?) clutch off a go cart or minibike. I'm not too familiar with edger motors, so do you know if it has a vertical or horizontal crank? If it is vertical, you will probably have to find a 90 degree gearbox, which I have tried and never got to work right. Your sprocket and chain will probably just come off of an old bike. Good luck!

Oh man...I wanna see the finished product!

i got a bomb ass of a deal yesterday.. i got an old honda "hobbit"? mo ped

very old, needs quite a bit of work... this might just take place of the project im doing... and ive got an extra engine, sooo......

which is a horizontal crank, kinda good for motor to gear-on-rim/wheel action, it just wont stop unless i shut the engine off......

i did get the mo-ped to run for about 5 secs.... then it slowly died...

had to pop it in gear and run with it down a hill to get that fkr to go

any suggestions for mods??

and for my bike, it might be hard for me to weld aluminum, im probably gonna tack a rounded sheet metal to the area where the engine will be... then weld some mounts and go from there... might take me till next summer with all the sh## goin on

spent the whole day tearing apart this moped... it is a 1978 Honda hobbit

re-lubbed, dried out and cleaned internal and outside the engine first..

checked wiring, reassembled, put gas back in it, pulled the throttle halfway 2 times, and poped its gear, and ran down the hill......

THAT MOT___FU____G B___H A__ WONT START STILL!!!!!!!!!!!!

would anyone know of a sight that would sell a manuel for these things

it still has spark, the gas mixture was right, air is getting to its throttle body, all in redy to run condition.... but the mothfkr wont start...
any suggestiions possibly...

i will gladly accept anything!
thankyou
