Help Minicooperonline.com Petition against BMW/MINIUSA
Minicooperonline.com, one of the biggest MINI forums on the web, was recently notified by BMW/MINI USA to remove the word 'mini' from their domain name or face legal action for trademark infringement.
Here's the thread detailing what happened: http://www.minicooperonline.com/modu...4098&forum=1&1 and here's the thread for the petition: http://www.minicooperonline.com/modu...&topic=14125&1 As a car enthusiast in general, I can't fathom the arrogance by BMW/MINI USA to bear down on an enthusiast forum that ENHANCES their brand image like this. Let's help them! |
I actually bumped on that site. months ago .. I always thought it was cool...
damn bmw.... |
The petition is really old news, but MINI will finally install them as option.
Autoweek.com Mini to offer dealer-installed front and rear fog lamp kits Mini has announced dealer-installed front and rear fog lamp kits will be available beginning in late September. Suitable for all existing Mini Cooper and Cooper S models, the kits can be bought for the rear only or front and rear as a package. The kits have an MSRP of $75 for the rear kit and $199 for the front and rear kit combined, exclusive of installation charges. Kit pricing includes an additional toggle switch for the front console. Installation includes ancillary wiring and reprogramming of the vehicle's software. Mini's announcement is good news for a vocal group of Mini owners who lobbied especially hard for the rear lamps (available in all other countries in which the Mini is sold) with an online petition drive. |

you know I would not even worry about it if I was them as long as their not making money off the mini trademark a lawsuit would come out in their favor you have to make money off it to break a law. That would be like me having a protege club and not being able to use the word Mazda. How stupid would that be most companies incourage this stuff its like free advertisments..
