grad gifts

gotta friend who is graduating in a few weeks, any gift ideas?
he's graduating with a bachelor's degree in IT, drives a toyota matrix, kind of a petrol head (still more n00b than me), into airsoft, japanese anime, action flicks, comedy flicks. any ideas?

my sister is graduating this weekend. need a gift too if anybody has any ideas. she's some sort of pre-med, she wants to be a nurse practicioner or something like that. she's into sports, loves her ipod, not much of a car person, not much of a computer person, in a sorority, all that stuff.

i dunno what people get for graduation, i usually get money. if i can't find anything, i'll just pick out a gift certificate. some people consider that bad taste, but if its the "thought that counts" then i'd rather have them put the thought into it instead of getting them something they'll hate. and then i'll look like i didn't put thought into it anyways. thansk for any ideas.
