How to Calculation lateral g-forces

Lateral acceleration→ aⁿ= v²/ρ

v → velocity of vehicle (in ft/s or m/s)
ρ → radius of corner (in ft or m)

Or lateral acceleration for skid pads aⁿ=
[(πd)/sL]²/ρ

L → number of laps
s → time (in sec)
d → diameter of skid pad (in ft of m)
π → ≈3.14159
v → velocity of vehicle (in ft/s or m/s)
ρ → radius of corner (in ft or m)

To get g-force→ aⁿ/g= G-Force

aⁿ → Lateral acceleration (in m/s² or ft/s²)
g → is local acceleration due to gravity (≈9.81m/s²;≈32.2ft/s²)

*Note make sure all units are the same

then theres all the mumbo jumbo when reading a car add:
PS: power seats (or power steering??...it's 1am....give me a break)
PW: power windows
PL: power locks
and so on....

and i know i'll probably get yelled at for this....but whatever...

Liters (L) to Cubic Inches (c.i., c.i.d.) Displacement Conversion

L x 61.02 = c.i. likewise... c.i. / 61.02 = L

Dodge ex: 360 ci = 5.9L 426 ci (legendary HEMI engine) = 7.0L

Chevy ex: 350 ci = 5.7L 454 ci = 7.4L

Ford ex: 302 ci = 5.0L 460 ci = 7.5L

EDIT: small block vs. big block-- refer to next post.

A 4.0L BMW or Audi motor is a really small V-8. FYI, the new 2008 Viper's 8.4L engine is 513 cubic inches. Good times.

.
incorrect...the term "small block" vs "big block" has to do with distance between cylinder bores, not displacement, granted a big block generally does have higher displacement...but you get get over 400 c.i. with a "small block" engine

i never knew that...interesting. getting over 400 c.i. from a small block would require stroking it out, am i right? (OT i know, i'll end my curiousity here)
