I'll like to se a glossary section, in part because i dont know squat of cars, and in part... no that is pretty much why...

I have a dream of a section when upon entering you see a list of part like
-CAI
-PULLEY
-EXAUST
-BUMPER STICKER

and inside those treads a small explanation (by a qualified person) of the part and what it does... for example.

EXAUST:
its the tube in the back of your car from where the engine gases go out. there are many shapes and kinds, the most common are the catback, its a pipe that goes after the catalitic converter and gives you from anywhere from to 2 to 7 extra hp, by letting more gas escape. other popupular it the "TIP" replaces your stock "end" for a louder one, it doesn't add hps to your car, but it makes it sound like a toy motorcycle some people like them, some people like me find them anoying.

and so on... what do you think , can we persuade the admin to open such a section?

would you be willing to colaborate?

I dunno about going into detail about what each part does and all, but I think a section that describes all the acronyms would be a good idea. Like a sticky for noobs to read before posting that explains what CAI, SRI, TB, FWD, AWD, etc. and other terms mean. I think that might be helpful ...

Oh yeah, the resources are out there no doubt ... I'm talking about making this forum more noob friendly to reduce simple questions. Google is the shizznit though ...

but i tought that since this ist a automotive forum it wold be nice to have all the info on hand, my bad, also it will encourage more focused opinions maybe even from the vendors of what kind of part its more reliable and whats a waste of money. anyway, just my humble opinion

I suppose "Fast and Furious for Dummies" would work for a few noob questions, but I think every single person who wants to modify their car should read up on engines first. Just the basics so that they understand internal combustion engines. (the difference between NA and FI, the concepts of high/low compression, AFR, timing, valve overlap, what an intercooler does, how nitrous oxide works, etc.)

FI - Forced Induction
S/C - supercharged
ECU - Engine Control Unit
CEL - Check Engine Light
MIL - Malfunction indicator Light(see CEL)

Toyota Supra: orange silly-6 which apparently has potential. looks like a 10-second car is an impossibility in the tuner world, and when you do build one; you don't need a roll cage.

CG: "computer generated" ie, most of the stunts in the Fast & Furious movies were CG
