The GTO is crap, Here's WHY:

1.) Boring Style - No opinion here, it's plain. Period.

2.) No true twin exhaust - Looks like nothing from the rear.

3.) Blink too fast and you'd sware it was a Grand Am.

4.) Colors are boring

5.) Interior is unbelievable and boring. Plain, flat, nothing special.

6.) Built from a catera pretty much, which SUCKED! They stopped making it.

7.) No emotion - NO ONE looks at that thing and goes "WOW LOOK AT THAT, IT'S the NEW GTO!"

8.) Gets lost in a parking lot.

9.) Phone Company Fleet car.

10.) Made from a DECADE old platform.

11.) Almost NO options

12.) Rest reminder is STUPID!

13.) Shifting is sloppy, same crappy 1 to 4 ship shift as in the vette

14.) CRAPPY brakes 185 feet stop from 70!!! lol

15.) JOKE tires. Way way to small.

16.) Almost 4000 lbs! needs a diet!

17.) Center of Grav way off from center.

18.) Quality very poor compaired to others.

I told you he needed to be banned Rod. I've seen his type on the board before. They join just to bash. Here's why I don't like the GTO. Australian transplant. That would be like saying I want to build the Roadrunner again..lets take a Stratus and drop in a V8...yes it would be ugly but who cares, it's a midsize with a big engine, so it's a reproduction of an old muscle car ! How about using the new Grand Prix chassis, use some styling cues from the original GTO, and bring back that 454...that would be a great GTO!

I agree Macdaddy...like I said from post #1, too little too late.

I can only imagine the GTO is supposed to replace the F-body and compete against the next gen 'Stangs....aint gonna happen. I equate the performance/attitude of the GTO to the Taurus SHO...it's just a midsize car with bland styling and a hot engine. My old pc wallpaper used to be the C&D review of the 1989 SHO...

"The best car you can buy for under $50K".....that was in 1989 too!! Inside it had stat-for-stat comparison of the 89 SHO and the 89 'Vette....wanna guess who won?

That's what we're seeing today.....a sedan (sized) car with a slight upscale feel and a large motor competing against sports cars....it may hold it's own now, but when the new stangs come out it's all over....should be about another few months now and we'll know for sure.

I have not driven one. I can read. I believe what testers say sometimes, it's not a solid feel shifter, there are much smoother out there, fact.

To answer your other questions, why would anyone want a FWD V8 performance car with no manual for it? And FYI, the GTO never came with a 454.
