Driving Record?
 

Does anyone know the best/easiest way to find out whats on your driving record? I want to know if I have any points on my record. I am a Cali resident.....if that makes a difference.

goto local dmv or local employment agencies. most will do it for you if you say its for an employment opportunity

Call your insurance company/agent.

driving record? as in accidents or as in points on your liscence? if you haven't gotten tickets, then your MVR or motor vehicle report is clear. no if you've done something stupid like running grandma over and sending her in for hip replacement, lord knows then. don't know much about insurance, though i should i guess (2 at fault and 3 not at fault in my 94lx since sept 2001). my insurance is higher, but not by that much.

also, out of state tickets may carry out onto insurance records, not sure, but do not carry out from state to state mvr reports... i live in pa, my two speeding tickets in jersey don't carry over to my pa mvr report. ie

License "points" and insurance "points" are totally unrelated.

I mean, you might get insurance points if you get points on your driving record (license) - but they do not correspond to the same things.

Just for example, "failure to obey traffic device" (which is like rolling thru a stop sign, etc.) carries NO license points here in NY - it is a fine-only offense. However, you most likely WILL receive points against your insurance, as determined by your insurance company, not the DMV.

Your best bet is to talk to your insurance agent. They can easily give you both records.
