Do these things add horsepower?

flame throwers you throw on the back end of your car, that i guess just burns up the unburned gasoline fumes in your exhaust? thats fuckered up.

hmmm...... thats for someone who wants to show off.
that has the name ricer all over it
waste of money just to show ppl that your
car can produce flames without even gaining
power. Maybe im wrong though. rolleyes:

you gotta rev it up for the unburnt gas to ignite. basically, you want to shut off the ignition so the spinning engine spits out a bunch of fuel down the pipes. it doesnt work with cat converters so dont even try unless you take those out.

The problem is it will take engine oil out with it so you gotta change your oil more often.

Is it worth it? Hell no! :D

a better way would be to rig up a compressor and fuel siphon line so you can do it without messing with the engine and cats and whatever. well thats what I think :)

now the above statement made me laugh so hard....RICER? omg that is just too funny.....

bubbashane...I am not laughing at you...but the fact that you think this is some ricer thing.....

this little "trick" goes back so far its not funny....this is something the "showoffs" did back in the '40's and '50's to their ledsleds and hotrods....this is ANYTHING but a new ricer trend.

Sir Nuke, the point still stands that if I see a Civic or a Protege or any other compact car shoot out 3-ft flames from it's pea-shooter, I will throw the bag of Uncle Ben's the car's owner and instantly lose all respect for him. Hence, ricer.

Now, if a 400hp Mach 1 rolled up next to me, revved and shot out flames, I'd probably run and cower in fear.

the only thing that "adds" horsepower is FI. A flame out the back will get your car impounded unless it's off the streets. Is there really a reason to burn the crap outta your bumper?

thanx for stickin up 4 me kpabap.
when i said that it has ricer all over it
I meant that, that product is a magnet for ricers.
Thats something ricers would buy for their
honda or etc. Its cool for a older car to have it
because it just suits its purpose.

My opinion: not something i would waste my money on.
