Digital cameras

Ok I have seen so many nice pictures up here of proteges and I was wondering just what kind of digital cameras you guys have? I need a cheap digital camera asap and need to know what you guys and gals feel about the ones that you own. I would like it if you could post some sample pics, tell me about it-(how many pics can it hold, usb, software, batteries, etc...)

Also, I'm not looking to spend more than $200 at the most on this...so don't go posting some pics from some $2000 camera please.:D

Thank you very much!

I really like the Kodak digitals. :/ I have an older Kodak DC210 Plus.

My Canon A10 can be purchased for $150.00!! It's 3X optical zoom (+3X digital) uses 4 AA batteries, and has unbeliveable battery life! Stores images on compact flash cards (128 meg cards are $39.00 and =400+ photos) Has LCD viewfinder. Does a great job even at twice the price!!

Sony Cybershot DSC-F707 for me. Takes awesome pictures and has nightshot for those cool Desert Storm effects.

if you really want to be able to do cool effects but don't wanna blow 1g... then ya shouldn't even be lookin at digitals dude... just get a 35mm SLR... the Nikon F55, or the Canon Rebel G are both REALLY FREAKIN nice cameras with all the adjustments (aperture, contrast, shutter speed, etc...), both come with 20-80 AF lenses and the canon G even has 3d matrix metering which'll let you do those cool merged multi-photo action shots they have in snowboard magazines (where you see multiple frames of a guy pulling an inverted 360 all in a single photo). They run about $429.99CDN for the complete kit (camera body w/built in flash, lens, carry-bag)... Once i pay off my P5, I'm prolly gonna pick one up (that is unless i have a LOT of cash and can afford a digital SLR!!! :D).

check out the Canon Elph S200, I have it and it works great! super compact in a brushed aluminum casing. 2.1 megapixel with 2x optical zoom, mini-movie capability, various special effects. best of all, you can get it for $245 now!!!

go to www.spoofee.com and check out their deal on how to get one of these for $245 from Dell.com

i am a huge fan of fuji cameras. i had one of thier point and shot 35mm cameras, and it would never give me a blank picture, and always give me one extra picture per roll of film. now, i sport a fuji 4900:

this is probably a high end consumer digi-cam, as it has all the features you could possibly want. i got mine for $500, but the only place to get them now is ebay.

i would recommend the fuji 2800, which has similar features but not as many bells and whistles as the 4900, and run in the $200-300 range.

check it out here:

The Fujifilm 2800 is what I have and I'm pleased with it. Here is an example of it's pictures.

I use a Kodak DC4800 with zoom. I love this camera. I have 128MB flash card so I can hold a lot of pics. Battery life can sometimes be a problem so I bought an extra battery

Kodak DX3900

Pretty good - 3.1MP (more than enough, 8x10 looks great), 2x Optical (wish it had more, look at newer models), 3X digital (ignore this, ruins images!) and 8MB included memory. Relatively limited (advanced/optical) features, but easy snap-and-go convenience. Average battery life, additional batteries and a charger are a must with ANY digital camera!

I bought a 64 and one 128MB card, and an additional CompactFlash reader.

Also remember that if you are not entirely satisfied with the feature set of a camera, you can buy accessories for pretty cheap - 7x, 10x fixed, 2x telephoto, 0.5x wide-angle lenses, and a cheap adapter for my camera cost $90 total pus hipping at http://www.kodak.com/US/en/corp/stor...ml?CATID=20134.

For under 300 (around 250 now) - a pretty good deal!

I've been told Nikons and Canons (not the ELPHs) take the best pictures, and the former offers the most options/features but both are expensive brands. Avoid HP/Polaroid at all costs. Kodak/Fuji/Samsung are good compromises, and Sony is overpriced for their limited feature sets, but som Sonys have excellent Carl Zeiss lenses (outside your, and my, price range anyway!)

I have a Minolta Dimage-X. It's even a little smaller (and much lighter btw) than the S200. Plus it's got a 3x zoom. Might be out of the price range requested here - about $550 CAN right now.

It's a really nice little camera.
