"Crash" the movie
 

um....hard to describe what I think about it. For those who don't know it's a star-studded cast discussing racism in america. I thought it was a very neat portrayal of how different cultures view things but you could tell they weren't telling the whole story.

If you plan on watching the movie don't read below. If you do plan on watching it it MAY be a spoiler. So be warned.


black kids (thug/car theifs)

white-acting black couple (tired of being accused of not being "black")

mexican guy (looks like a gangster but is a loving father in the burnbs)

pakistani family (tired of being robbed by blacks-dont speak english well)

asian women (causing traffic accidents and swapping "R"s with "L"s)

rich white people (car jack victims and royal jackasses)

white cop (racist/sexist/power-hungry)

black cop (ashamed of his "black" family and still remains loyal to them)

asian man (selling fellow chinese on the slave market-gets hit by thugs)


Basically what I got from this movie is if you're white person you are a total jackass and deserve to be robbed. If you're a minority you're secretly a great person even though you look tough on the outside. In the movie everyones story ends happily (somewhat) except the white peoples.

I'm not upset by the movie at all. I just think it was the closest thing we'll see to honest discussion about races however the "white side" was NOT portrayed at all. All in all it's deffinatly a rental for those interested.

I'm just kiddin'. I thought it was a great movie illustrating racism. However I don't reside in America but it's almost the same here. I do agree with you however that they weren't tellin' the whole truth.

I've wanted to see this for a long while...Looks like this weekend, I might just have to go out and rent it! If I do, I'll post up my opinion.

I'm honestly NOT offended by the movie but I thought it weird that they'd touch on how EVERY race was discreminated AGAINST but whites.

I have no problems with any race honestly but we all have to admit there are some screwed up people out there making us all look bad. This movie just does that in an hour and a half.

I guess I gotta watch it too now...

Ok...my main squeeze was telling me about that movie. LOL, she's of the vanilla flavor & she felt the same way Matty...so, it's not just you who feels the way ya do. :evilgrin:

it was a good movie and I enjoyed it but it just REALLY portrayed white people as the meanest, shittiest people on earth.

Yah...she told me the same thing...she mentioned something about the lady w/the handbag..or a bag of some sort. I'm sure I'll see what's up after I actually watch it.

Watch 'A Day without A Mexican' It's not quite as bad...it's actually kinda funny...but you'd have to watch it to see why..if you haven't already seen it.

i saw it. I didn't find it entertaining at all. About the mexican movie basically what it said was without mexicans us LEGAL citizens wouldn't be able to run our country. That is hardly true. I only want to remove the illegals. If you're legally here paying taxes and contributing then I love you and wish you'd stay. If you're a criminal and hiding out here because your toilet of a country is getting nastier and nastier then I don't want you here. File the paperwork and come across correctly and I'll put your un--skilled butt to work making decent wages (for someone with no education/experience/lnaguage skills).


in my PERSONAL opinion....todays mexicans are yester-years blacks. All they are is better paid slave labor. That should END now. If we want to use them for grunt work then thats fine but make sure they are welcomed here and treated fairly...not like slaves. Offer them healthcare that they MUST pay for (no more free healthcare rides)...offer them chances to invest in the companies they work for. Allow them to take pride in where they work and what they do and you'll find everyone gets along better.

Now, granted...I've spent a tremendous amount of time in Florida (10yrs), I'd be damned if you can go into Miami now and see a billboard sign in English. Not to step on anyones toes here, but just FYI, if a Cuban fleeing Castro-controlled Commie Cuba, reaches US soil before being stopped by the USCG, they GET to stay. I kid you not. I've sat around the house eating popcorn watching them on TV. Now, don't get me wrong, that's a pretty ambitious for a group of ppl to make a raft/boat/floating disaster and try and make it over...but I don't agree w/the let 'em in and hook 'em up type of thing. That's f**ked in my opinion.

Now, I also have many Cuban & Mexican friends...who are cool as a polar bears toenail, but...be it as it may, if i found out they were not legal....see ya. If I had to pay the fees to move from Jamaica to the States legally...then damn it, you can too.
