conundrum (sp)
for a vehicle that has 220 hp an runs on premium only, would their be alternatives to get the same octain and cleaning solutions into, lets say, mid grade or unleaded without the 3.05 a gallon cost
and if so, what would be the affects on the engine (wich is a v6 3.0 non turbo) the goods and or the bads if not, well, damn |
assuming you got the 300zx ?
if it was designed to run 91 octane, guess what...gotta run 91 or run the risk of engine damage.... sorry. |
I would say octane booster, but the cost of that would pretty much offset the cost of premium fuel anyway.
|
I was gonna say he has a Mazda 6s 3.0, I'd say stick to premium and suck it up =P
|
Octane booster sucks, a whole bottle will only raise the total octane level of a tank of gas by about .5
And just think of it this way, at least you don't live in Seattle where gas is 3.65 for premium because its against state law (or some bs like that) to pump your own |
Ya, I'll chime in here too and say if it specs premium, then you're better off sticking to it. Your gas mileage will be better too (because the engine is optimized for that octane grade).
((I'll add off topic that I didn't know that Washington does no self serve. I know Oregon doesn't allow you to pump your own gas...which is why it's only 10-20 cents cheaper than California.)) |
i was gonna buy a 300zx (90' 5 speed, 2 seater, t-top, clean as hell, no rice, no dents)
but i was pending on a co-sign wich was refused and denied sorry for asking though but at least i'd know what i'd be looking at for the gas on one (when i buy it next month! thats right! b hatchez) plus im going to move to Mobile AL next month... and need to find a job.. help on finding one will be greatly appreshiated! |

I once was driving through Oregon, and I didn't know about the law. I stopped at a gas station, and started to pump my own gas. The attendant came unglued and threatened me with a $700 fine if I didn't stop immediately. So I stopped, but I wasn't happy. He made me wait until he gassed everyone else before finally filling my tank. Now I have another reason to hate Oregon :) |
