Carbon-fiber valve covers.

I was bored recently at the store, so I picked a March 2003 issue of Super Street, just to read on about the latest Honda/Acura/Nissan/Toyota/Mitsubishi/Ford/Chevy/Dodge performance parts and accesories, and ran across a carbon fiber valve cover made by Pro-Motion (for Civics, of course). From what I understood, the article describes it as an easy way to score point at the car show. But is that the only reason they made it for? Is it really all show, and no go?

It's only a cover. Just to pretty up the engine compartment. All show, no go. Ever see the valve cover on the MP3? Same deal.
:)
