Yeah. They left off the two extra cylinders. The V6 auto Mustangs are 16 to 17 second cars. My wife's is a 5-speed and have to flog the hell out of it to beat the P5.

YellowMP5 October-7th-2002 06:30 PM

what year v6?

tradr October-7th-2002 10:53 PM

looks like it could be anywhere between 99 and 2002.. no way to tell since nothing changed afaik between the years :D

Definitely looks like a cool rental.. hehe, but it probably did have a governor or the convertible part added mad weight to slow it down..

The newer mustang v6's are almost the same power as the 94-98 GT's before it (of course only a stock GT).. drove my friend's 97(?) GT in 5spd with just an air filter and some cobra 18 inch wheels to slow it down, I have to say I think a Prelude would kick its ass if the GT is in stock form.

Blah, enough rambling..

I'd take a Mustang anyday if the insurance wasn't so expensive.. there's some suspension kits out there which'll put them well over 1.0g of cornering for under $2000.. nice cheap American stuff. :D

We rented one back in '99 for my grad, it was pretty fun at the time, but I was coming off an '89 Pontiac Tempest so ya know....

first of let me tell yall ,,, we got so much attention with that damn car, the girls were looking and coming up to the car everywhere we went in miami beach .... it was so frigin cool ... I sware I said that I wanted a mustang convertible when I went down there and when we got there , we found out they did not have anymore ,,, shitzzz ,,, so we got a hard top stang ,, pos ,, and it felt slow the same way ,, it had a real slow take off , like a 2 second delay ,,... anyway we passed back in and that one was there so we took it ... lol hahahaha ,,, yeah :p

I tell you one thing I have a new respect for stangs , and convertibles , cause you get so much damn attention in them , i tell ya it is crazy ..... and driving in them almosts eliminates the need for a frigin ac system ,, I said almost now .. lol

I have no respect for muffstanks or fords in general. they are so common, you see them everywhere, so I'm actually surprised you got looks. I had a friend with an old yellow saleen S/C and he got lots of looks too, but that makes sense since they aren't common like GTs.

Anyone intrested in a 65 Red convertable mustang or a 66 Silver hardtop with AC? Both in excellent shape.
