Well folks, this weekend is the annual "New Car Expo" in the mid-size town I live in. Last year's was cool, as it gave me a chance to check out a multitude of models out there. They had an '02 ES elevated on ramps about 2 meters high so you could check out the underside, etc.. It was visible across the floor and mirrored the appearance of my car, except for the side markers, slightly different alloy wheels, etc. characteristic of the minor changes they made from the '01's. Despite many things about it I wish were better, the Protege is still an awesome looking car.

Anyway, I'm really hopeful that the Mazda dealership will have a Mazda6 on the floor this time. Since we're not the largest of communities, in last year's show we didn't have all the cars from every manufacturer; it was pretty good, but not totally complete. Given that the M6 is so new and they're still working to fill initial dealer stock requests, I have a bad feeling we may not yet have one for them to show. And damn, I've been dying to check one out-- It's a car I'm thinking about to replace my Pro.

Please let them have a 6! Please let them have a 6! Please let them have a 6...



Anyway, if they do have one I'll post my impressions just for the heck of it. You can't actually drive any of the cars, but at least you can see one in the flesh and check out seat comfort, interior component quality/feel, etc.. I always have a great time checking out what's new!
