Actually, the movie is entitled "Spider-Man". :p

Guess you can still consider it one word, with that hyphen there. :D

Picky, Picky lol

whatever. spider-donkey. quite possibly the lamest super-hero of all time, next to the x-men. NOT because of their abilities, but because everyone hated 'em! no matter what good the x-men did, they were outcasts. and spidey was the same thing. "spiderman foiled the bank robberey!" jonah jamison: "spiderman planned it all! he's the real culprit!"

bastard!

now, who's scruffy lookin' was pretty funny back in the day, and still is (in context). but i think lucas tried to portray anakin as a wide-eyed, innocent and really good kid. but in ep2, he seems to become arogant. so i 'm not gonna bag too hard on the kid for playing the role.

anyhoo, i would have given the "gross more" award to SW if ep1 hadn't been so ho-hum. now ep2 will have to prove itself against LOR. but they'll both make money so i guess it don't matter much.

I wanna see Matrix 2 over the others, but SW2 will make the most money. I also can't wait until Spider-Man comes out, it looks really good.

heh, what can I say? The business has jaded me. :D

I've always liked the "unsung" heros better. It's more interesting to watch a show about a super hero who does good, even when he's public enemy #1.

Yeah, it was a pretty funny line at the time, and in the context...but what would happen if someone tried to use that line in a movie today? It would be considered stupid and cheesy. Lucas is trying to make a movie in 2002 out of a story which had its groundwork laid over 20 years ago. Times change, and dialogue changes. The reputation that the original has built up is so huge that hardcore fans are ignoring the cheesy dialogue and making a religion out of it. Which leaves George Lucas the dillemma of either choosing to give the fans exactly what they want, or to create his vision for the sake of continuity and his art...even if the wording ends up 20 years out of date.

Dedicated fans are always the hardest to please. Because if you keep the same formula for too long, it becomes stale and succumbs to time and cultural changes. But if you change anything, it causes an uproar because you've changed the original product.

Lucas should've just made the whole story back-to-back. :p

What movie is that from???

They gotta bring Ocean's Twelve or Snatch II hehe, I loved those movies :D

By the way, Deceptipro, I used to work at Lougheed Cinemas. I would regularly miss about 7-8 hours on paycheques, and don't worry, I served more then my share of dumb customers hehe.

I had to put up with drunks/ripped people coming in for our lateshows as we were one of the only theatres that had them on fri/sat nights. Then Lougheed Mall shut us down

How about Shaft II???

Spider-Man

I think if this is done well it will be very good, jesus its like i offended you or somethng onehawaiian did you get a bad papercut from a spider-man book when you were young :stickpoke :)

onehawaiian Apr 2, 2002 12:27 PM

racer91- ha ha, nah, it's all good. :p i liked spiderman, but the writers musta thought we were stupid enough to believe that people are gonna hate the good guy time in and time out, no matter what. i mean c'mon, if you hated this guy from high school and he becomes a fireman and saves some kids life, you wouldn't think he intentionally set the fire just to be the hero, right? i mean at some point, you gotta see the light... same with the x-men. i love those guys, but they were always on the outside looking in... :(

spidey shoulda just shot some web into jamison's mouth to shut him up... bastard!

"the one that says bad@ss motherf#cker..." actually, the original quote was with a "lightsaber" and within SW context , but the line above was from pulp fiction.
