BMG Music Club, anyone use it?

I was a member of this club in the early 90's. I only bought (2) cds from the club, but got about (12) free (minus s/h of course). Has anyone become a member recently? There website is pretty nice, it beats getting the crap in the mail. They still have the special for 12 cds for the price of 1 ($14.98 and up). This is a great deal, even when you pay $2.49 a cd for s/h. It comes out to about $5 bucks a cd.

I just want to get some feedback on any tips/rants/raves that anyone may have. Thanks :D

it's pretty cool. i used 2 dif names and addresses and got like 24 cd's. the best is when they have the 75% off sale, or buy 1 get 3 free. best of all, you only have to buy one cd to complete membership (unlike those bastards at columbia house).

Yeah burn them cds! I use Kaaza too. But I don't about you guys but lately I've been thinking bout going back to cassette tapes whenever I go biking or jogging, just for outdoor activities. CDs skips and has scratches even you take good care of 'em yet I do have a lot of them.

Why not buy a portable MP3 player that takes flash cards? They are perfect for jogging/running/biking. Or you could buy a Minidisc player. While I wouldnt recommend it, they have qualitys of a tape player (wont skip, can rewrite) and a cd player (cd quality sound, can record songs from your computer).

Like I said before, I am all for the mp3 movement. The RIAA are a bunch of blood sucking leeches. I read some stats a month or so ago that showed how record sales went up a great deal while napster was out, but when they shut napster down, records sales fell a great deal.

IMO, radio and mp3s are not different. Its the same music, only different formats. Also, is it fair to have to buy all your old records in CD format, since you purchased them already? I think not!

I jusy burn my own discs. Unless I really like someone. Kaazaz all the way. I started with Napster, went to rapigatoe, went to morpheaus, and then to kaaza. Morpheaus kicked ass until it got fucked up.

I use Kazaa too, mostly to sample music. If I really like a CD, I would rather pay the money, and get the best sounding quality. I am bit old fashioned, because I mostly listen to old sh*t - Led Zeppelin, Floyd, CCR, Doors, Metallica, G&R, Aerosmith... Back then, it was music. Today it's nothing but three-cord music, and nobody has a decent voice.
As for BMG or Columbia, I never used them. I just wanted to drop in my $.02 about using MP3s instead of CDs. :peace:
