Anyone interested in pcking up a new cell phone?

Hey, just saw something cool online. For christmas my wife bought me a new Nokia N-gage QD gaming phone. These used to be $300 phones with weak software. When I bought this one I got it for $99 (prepaid service). I got a buttload of software and stuff for it..(almost every game you could find for it including emulators and roms).

If anyone is interested in one I can get you $25 off coupons for a $100 gaming phone and then I'll just give you the additonal software for free.

Whats in it for me? For every person that buys a phone (not pre-paid service) They'll get a $25 coupon and I'll get a $25 gift certificate.

For those that don't know about the phone it's a real neat toy. It's a tri-band cell phone, has built-in bluetooth wireless, is an mp3 player, a movie player, a video game player, etc. It has 3D graphics (not the greatest but still real good). There's a lot of great NEW software for it directly from nokia. Some of the games I'm playing are awesome and not available on any other system or handheld.

All in all it's a great buy for $99 but it's even better at $75! If anyone wants in on this just send me an email (perrymuk@bellsouth.net) and I'll forward you the coupons.

Does that phone use SIM cards to get service or is it one that needs to be programmed for the right service provider. I have Cingular so my phone has a little card I can take out and just simply swap into another phone, is that the case with this Nokia? Cuz if it is ... count me in!

yeah, you can just put in your sim card. I'm on cingular with it also.

Also, they use MMC cards to store info on. It's about half the size of an SD card but I just bought a 2Gb MMC card for $100 off ebay and you can put almost 3 whole movies on one card. A 1Gb MMC card goes for about $65 and will hold 1 whole movie and any of the software I can send you.

I've got just about every N-gage made (up to a certain date) so you wouldn't really need to buy any games. There are still 5-7 more that I want so I'm hoping a few people buy a phone and that will get me those games and then I'll have people to play on "N-gage Arena" (xbox live equivilant). You can also geta bluetooth adapter from walmart for $15 or off the internet for $6. Once you have that and a "ARENA" game we can just call each others phone and play head to head.

Also, you can record voice chat ands end it to the other player during the game....it's real neat.

thanks for posting this AFTER I spent $250 on a sidekick II

sorry, maybe you could sell that phone $200 or so and then get this one for $75 and have some cash left over?

i need an upgrade... my phone is old as crap... over a year, haha... ( think its a nokia 3560, something close to that.

but... darn work just cut out ALL overtime though... doh! barely gonna have enough money to get tires..

So do SD memory cards work? I have a 2GB one in my HP iPAQ so it would be really sweet if I could swap between those two. I love having my iPAQ cuz it has WiFi and every other software I could ever want in my palm but having a sweet phone would also rock. If it takes the SD cards then that's all I can really ask for, so count me in.

Roddimus Prime January-4th-2006 09:16 PM

it doesn't take SD cards...only MMC. The phone is pretty small and space is tight. If you need help finding a good MMC card let me know. I know where to get some good prices.

Man that sounds really really tempting. How long is this deal good for? I might need a week or so to decide and get the money. I'd like to actually get my hands on one and see how big and heavy it is ... how it actually looks in person. So I'll definately keep you posted Rod.

I dunno when the offer ends. I'll try to find out.

The unit is only about as big as my hand (palm)....but I have kinda big hands. I'd say it's a little smaller than the original GBA (without the flip screen).

It looks just like the pics on the website.....all i can really tell ya. It's a neat toy and i've been real happy with it. I can get reception here at my house and no other cell phone will.

See I really like it cuz you can play games on it and stuff, but on the other hand I'm really interested in getting a Motorolla MPX300 like my cousin has. That's a sweet ass phone, it's a PDA/Phone combo type of deal but you can't play games on it. I just gotta actually find an Ngage to play with before I decide to buy one.

sometimes video game stores like gamestop will have demo units BUT they are usually the older N-gage units and not the new QD.

KrayzieFox January-5th-2006 07:04 PM

What's the diff?

the older style is larger, bulkier, it requires removing the battery to swap games.

the new QD style is:

lighter, slightly smaller, it inlcudes a "hot-swappable" game slot, it also has a new "ok" button added opposite keypad which makes games and surfing MUCH easier. It also comes pre-loaded with updated software and a brighter screen.

All I need is your email for me to send you this coupon. Then you'll just put in my info and we'll both get a bonus.

Sounds like a good phone and it's a great deal, but I think I'll pass on it. I got my hands on one at a local wireless carrier and it's a little too big for my standards. I have a nokia 3220 which is as big as my remote starter for my car, so going to somethin as big as the Ngage would be quite the difference. I'll let you know if I change my mind though.
