Anyone here use Yahoo for email service? Please read, i have a problem

Anyone here use yahoo for email service? This morning, I decided to change my password. I changed the password, and when I tried to log back on, it said "invalid password". I tried again and again until it said "account disabled". I was given (2) choices, I could send a new password to my alternate address, or I could give them some personal information to match with my account information. The problem is 1) my alternate email address has not worked in (3) months, I didnt relize I didnt change it until today :( . 2) when I created my yahoo account about 5 years ago, I didnt put any correct information personal information. I tried emailing yahoo about this situation, but I havent recieved a response yet.

My question is, has anyone else had this problem before. I know this sounds like im shit out of luck, but im hoping I can resolve this somehow. The crazy thing is, when I changed my password, it asked you to type it in (2) times. What kind of luck do I have that I typed it in wrong (2) times in a row! Has anyone ever contacted yahoo about email problem before? If so, how are they about resolving problems? Well, any feedback will be helpful.

I have a yahoo address....but have not ever changed my password.....I like you ... didn't put in a bunch of REAL personal information...its the whole reason I have the address in the first place...same for my hotmail address.

Not sure about why you couldn't get back in though...unless the password hadn't taken effect or something like that..

was there anything in your inbox or any folders that can't be replaced? I guess you could always start over...but then you couldn't get your username back....UNLESS....they have REALLY disabled that account...then there is no reason why you couldn't get it back.....its worth a try I guess.

hope it all works out.

That's weird, I've never heard of an account being disabled before. I also use yahoo, and I've never really come across these problems. I assume you've tried your old password? If not it's worth a shot. Hope you hear back from them soon.

Nope, believe me, ive tried everything (well not every possible letter combination) :) The problem is, after about 10 tries to logon, it will disable the account for 12 hours. This doesnt give me much to work with. I emailed yahoo.com about my situation, but they simply tell me they cant do squat for me. Here is their reply:

"Hello,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Account Services.

Account privacy and security is an important concern of Yahoo!. One of
the ways we protect accounts from unauthorized access is by denying
account assistance to individuals who contact us, but are unable to
match the information that was either entered during the registration
process or most recently updated.

When registering for a Yahoo! account we ask for a minimal amount of
information. We need to be able to verify all the information currently
registered on your account in order to assist with access to it. We
will not be able to make changes, issue a new password or delete the
account if the verification information does not match.

We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, but we adhere to these
guidelines in order to protect the privacy and security of all our
user's accounts. If you are unable to provide this information, you do
have the option of opening a new account.

Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Customer Care.

Regards,

Yahoo! Customer Care"

They dont want to help me at all. I told them what my old password was, and what my new password is suppose to be, but they dont want to help me at all. I probably misspelled my new password by a letter, and I explained this to them. Talk about lousy customer service. I wonder if I would get better service if I payed $29.95 a year for the extra service. :(
