anyone familiar with this??

...the 626 died on me on christmas...

at first it was the battery so I changed that it all is good. The next day it wouldn't start at all. That turned out to be a loose connection. Tightened that...

... it starts, and the engine turns off right after it starts. There's power and everything but the engine doesn't stay on unless the gas pedal is pressed...

...now today, I started the car this morning and oddly enough all is fine...

So I ran some errands and as I was pulling up to my house the RPMs drop from 3000 to 0 and the car rolled into it's spot...

Something with the fuel line maybe??

Mass air flow sensor?

Might want to have the alternator checked out, too.

Sounds like what happened to me when i had my MAF disconnected. Car starts up and then dies right away.

...just got back from the mechanic... turns out the new battery created a power surge that threw off the computer... need a new coilover, wires and spark plugs...

set me back 600 bucks

and I still have to get the front engine mount for another 200

...there were a bunch of other problems that went wrong as well... just didn't put them down...

fuel filter went bad, the plugs were just old (apparently the person who had the car before us did no scheduled maintenance), the wires cos since the engine mount is broken the engine pulls back during acceleration causing the wires to get pulled..

total on parts were 279

labor was 288

eh.. that's what happens when you buy a used Mazda from a Honda dealer claiming the car is in top shape....

but I can't complain... this is the first huge problem this car has had in 3 years...

:mach: mechanics
