Earth Abides, is that the book by George R Stewart? If so, I read it and it was a very interesting book.

Talon_66 Jun 22, 2004 08:52 AM

Waldo gets around. He's here, then he's there.... I under estimated his sneakiness..

The Odyssey by Homer. Very good read IMO

I would like to read The Illiad (spelling). I have also heard/read some stuff about Homer saying he was blind... pretty damn good 'poems' for a blind guy.

Yeah, the Ray Charles of Iambic Pentameter. Actually, the consensus is that there was never a real Homer. The Iliad and the Odyssey are really an oral
tradition, stories which began before there was a written language in Ancient Greece.
No one at this point is really sure how a Homer came to be associated with these poems. Great stories, though, no matter what the origin.
