89' Civic DX -vs.- 96' Protege LX

Could you guys tell me which one of these cars
would win in a racE?

89' Honda Civic Hatchback DX or a 96' Mazda Protege LX?

The Civic is a stick-shift and the Proto is an automatic.

Also the Proto has a 1.5litr under the hood.

I'm very curious, so post some reply's please.

Thanks.:D

P.S.: No mods have been installed on either car.

I will take the Civic. Lighter, and 5spd. will make the difference.

Oz

The Civic DX only has 95hp 1.5l engine. The torque is relatively low. It could be a close race, but if it's a hatchback, it should pull you by about a carlength.

A running-like new 89 civic dx will have a high 17 second quarter mile.

So, you will be close to equal or it will beat you :D

I guess the Civic 'cause my bro's gf had an older protege that was ungodlyly *?* slow.

Even if you do win though, you're still only beating a 14yr. old Civic. Will you really feel better about yourself?
