350z
what do you think of the new 350Z?
|
The build quality in the interior of the car is shitty. They used really cheap plastics, but thats Nissan for you.
|
yea i hear that thats a common trend with nissan and i hear that toyotas got a lil bit of that crap plastic too:rolleyes: , i love my mazdas quality and proformance:D :D
|
preach on brother, LOL

The 350 Z is pretty damn nice. I accually got to drive one a couple of weeks ago. It was pretty damn fast. I also raced against this same car, and lost. I think things will be different when I get my exhaust!

 The interior of the car is SWEET. You have got to sit in one.
|
Love it, haven't gotten to drive one yet but the styling is good and the shifter feels solid. Definitely meant to be driven around. I just hope Mazda can make the RX-8 outhandle it when it comes out, I've already heard it won't outrun the Z.

I wouldn't say the plastic inside of a Protege is anything to write home about. And the seating material on the Mazdaspeed feels cheap and flimsy, which is crap because the fabric in the other model grades is much better.
The 350Z is a nice car, but I would rather have the G35 coupe. I did not catch any feeling of cheapness from the Z. Its not a BMW on the inside but its not meant to be either. |
I said in comparison to the MSP the 350 feels cheap, in the Z i was in the door on the dash was broken.

To return to the original question and disregard the interior plastic... :D
First off, I haven't driven a 350Z, and I never pass final judgment on a car until I drive one. However, on paper, I'm a little disappointed in the car. I like many things about it... it's powerful, cool-looking (pictures don't do it justice IMHO), very reasonably priced and has some pretty impressive technical specs. However, it's WAY too heavy- there is NO excuse for this car to weigh *more* than a Vette with a 5.7L V-8. It's pretty obvious that Nissan has piled on unnecessary features on the car in the name of styling and/or poser appeal- such as the HUGE wheels and the gonzo aluminum strut brace that cuts the luggage compartment in half- and left out features that would matter to real sports car enthusiasts, such as stiffer suspension or a real LSD- what's up with putting a weak-ass *viscous* POS on a 287 hp car? :( I used to own a 240Z, and I was hoping for something a bit cheaper, smaller, lighter, simpler and more hard-core. The 350Z is a bit too close to the last 300ZX- fast and cool-looking, but ultimately too heavy and too complicated. I like the RX-8 much better. :bt: All IMHO of course. :D |
Originally posted by MazspeedPro WTF are you talking about dude. Compare the plastics even from the 350 to the Mazdaspeed interior. Nissan has been notorious for using cheap plastics, your sadly mistaken. And I have been in one , as my post above clearly states. My buddy has one, the goldish orange one. He hasn't let me drive it YET:( ) And after sitting in it, the MSP compares nothing to it IMO. I have also test drove the MSP, cause I'm planning on getting the 2003.5 The 350z, TO ME, looks like a cock pit surrounded by all those buttons. More futuristic. I like buttons.:) You have your opinion, I have mines. To you it looks bad, to me it's sweet. BTW, the MSP isn't all that glamorous in the interior either. IMO The seats are sweet, the sound system is sweet, the stitching is sweet. The dash layout- same as all pros, off course. head unit- its an install, off course:rolleyes: steering wheel- I don't like it much. Its not as comfortable as the 99-00. (I like driving with my index and thumb sometimes, the I can't do that with the newer steering wheels) Cup holders- STILL suck. |
The 18 inch wheels on the 350Z are forged Ray's engineering wheels. I wouldn't be surprised if they are lighter than the stock P5/ES wheels.
|
sorry foxy, but the color is le mans sunset and the interior is burnt orange leather. they also all have manual trannys. and for anyone who hasn't driven one or rode in one, the suspension is very stiff, you can feel every crack on the road. how do i know all this? i work at a nissan dealership, the #1 volume dealership in the midwest actually, so we have about 10-15 350Z's on our lot.
