I am looking to put together the first official protege club meet
(that I know of) for the tri-state area. Keep in mind all are welcome if you wanna drive! Date: June 22 Saturday Time: 1:00 Place: Plymouth Meeting Mall, stawbridges lot by circle K Mobil station. This is in plymouth meeting, PA 19462 (Subaru meet at 4:00pm at the Pep boys on delaware ave too- Protos are welcome!) Post and let me know you are on board! Yeah, I'm definately down for that.
I pass that area 2x a day on my way to work and back... But why there? What's there besides Strawbridges and IKEA. I mean, wouldn't it be better to go an additional 6 miles (or 6 miles less) and hit the KOP mall? They've got more stuff there and a movie theatre and stuff. Don't get me wrong, it'd be fun and all, but I had more in mind than just sitting out in the parking lot. BTW... I'm having a BBQ at my place near Trenton, NJ on the 29th. I wouldn't call it a club get-together by any means, as I'm having a lot of other friends come by, but if anyone is interested in having some beers and BBQ, send me a PM. |
I picked plymouth meeting because the turn pike, 76, 202,and the blue route all cme together there. I have the added advantage of woking at IKEA and I know that lot will be available for us as well as within the view of passerbys if they wish to stop.
KOP mall is a cluster f*** on a saturday! Who knows maybe you and I will moderate the philly chapter! |

Yeah... you're right KOP can be FUBAR on Saturday. That'd be cool to moderate the philly chapter. Even if there's only a few of us, its as good an excuse as any to cut lose... |
Hmm.. thats only like 160 miles from me. I might consider going (I'm VERY reliable if I commit to it).. I'll let you guys know about a week beforehand.
Now that they raised the water restrictions up here.. ohhh my car would get there really shiny :D |

Don't worry the misspel, it brought up another interesting point we hadn't though of... will there be a rain date? A little before the meet, I'm gonna send you a list of parts I'm missing... I swear, half of my house is IKEA. I'm actually suprised you having seen me stuffin' the back of the P5 over there... been there twice since I got the car. You wouldn't believe how much furniture'll fit in the back of those things :D |

I dont know the names, part numbers, or how to put anything together... You lost the parts on your own...I am not sweedish... I may have actually seen you. My employees tend to point out mp5's. My guess is to stay on my good side. They call them station wagons. I tend to get very defensive. If you have found any spelling or gramatical errors, please feel free to PM me... Just an idea. The rain date could be at auto x (solo2) to in boing's lot in south philly. That is Sunday the 23rd. Since we are obviously the "moderators" of Philly-Whadya think? MISSPEL?:D :D |
The AutoX sounds cool. I'm not ready to get into one yet... but I'd like to see what goes on... take some photos, etc.
I was kidding about the missing pieces. Actually, you've got one of the nicer stores I've been to. Everytime I find a missing piece (actually only twice), I drop by on my way home from work. Show the part on the instructions to who-ever's behind the cust serv desk, and I'm usually good to go in less than a few minutes. You think about putting in an invite over at the other board, protegemp3.com or whatever it is? We shouldn't let site administrators get in the way of having a decent local chapter. |

Plymouth Meeting Mall... you'd take I-95 South through Jersey to Exit 6... then take the PA Turnpike West to Norristown (exit 25). Follow signs for Plymouth Road, then make a left on to Plymouth Road and a right on to Germantown Pike. Follow signs for mall traffic only - You will see Strawbriges on your left and a bunch of protos... IKEA will be on you right and the mall will be on your left.
It'd take approx 1 hr. 45 minute from the exit of the Holland Tunnel. The "when" is June 22, but I'm not sure about the time. |

OK... the directions from NYC, NJ are posted twice in this thread... I'm not going to post them again... you can read the thread if you want more information. If you are coming from somewhere else, let us know where you are coming from, and we'll give you directions.
Regarding the time... It starts at 1:00. And the Subaru meet starts at 4:30. That 3.5 hours if you can't do quick math. There are two reasons that the Subaru thing came up. 1.) MP5 is tight with those guys cause he spun with them before he totalled his Subaru - I can't wait to see pictures 2.) The Pro get-together was looking very bleak, as only MP5 and myself were committed. We figured we might as well hang out with somebody. Obviously, if 5 or more guys show up to this Protege thing, and I'm having a good time, I'll say "Fuck you very much" and skip the Subaru crowd... I'd much rather do my own thing anyway. The mall is an opportunity because it's a big space so we can fit a lot of cars, but also because there are a couple decent places to eat and other things to do in the area. It's entirely up to you guys, but I would definately like to anybody show up. |
i l be there for sure....but i m having a Subaru meet that day as well on DEL Ave at the pep boys at 4 so i have to bounce before 3 =)
