Proposed Meet in Kent, Connecticut in under a month!
 

I'm proposing a meet in Kent, Connecticut at Kent Falls (nice looking state park with modest hiking capability and such if we get really bored).. this will be a picnic style meet unless somebody has a better idea, and I would bring a boombox for music and such.. it is not a COVERED shelter so we'd have to hope for good weather and postpone it if the weather turns out poorly.

I will be looking into the details and taking pics of the place in the next couple of days to show you the place I'm talking about..

Just an idea, and then we can start the Connecticut chapter of the Protege Network!

Any feedback? I propose this location because it's, pretty, kind of in the middle of nowhere, and a curvy backroads area.. good photo opportunities (if I remember right from the last time I've been there), also.. its under 100 miles from pretty much everyone in CT (do a mapquest of your town to Kent, CT.. and then add a couple miles north on route 7)

if i were closer i would support you, but i also made a pact never to venture back to Connecticut. Bad experiance!

Hey if you guys are still interested in this let me know, I just mapquested it out and it is only 55 miles away from me, so it would be a nothing drive. Just let me know.

I've been super busy (was in Maryland over this weekend and job searching), I will eventually let you guys know when there is a plan :)

Keep me posted too. Haven't done anything too my car (broke beyond belief), but would like to see everyone else's!

Hmm, and now my car is having a braking problem :(

this isn't good.. I believe its due to a spring missing from the caliper.. grr.. mazda parts counter here I come

Well ive been looking for ct runners for awhile .Count me in im from Waterbury. Maybe i can get my brother and the maine crew down here to meet with us too i think theres a few of them maybe 4. keep me updated my car doesnt have many mods because i just bought a gtr engine cd deck speakers gtr frount grill familia rear garnish and fixed my exhaust but next year she will be turbo charged with a haltech ecu and around 300 hp lets try to start a CT crew ...Jon 93 lx

I unfortunately won't be able to make it because I will be in training that day for my job, it will be the second to last day of a two week training :mad:

Please keep me posted though and someone that goes please take pics and keep me in mind cuz I want to see them after the meet....sorry I can't make it, maybe we could set up another meet before winter sets in.... :cool:

yeah saturday is better for me im coming from maine.

Well.. this'll just be like a preliminary meet.. there could be a meet sometime again before it starts snowing up in CT or whatever.. I just want to get something going soon to get some excitement and have some photo taking opportunities and such.. so I think Sun, Sept. 1st will be ok for a first meet.. I wouldn't suggest going out of your way for this first meet..

for most people in CT this will only be like 50-75 miles away max.. even some people in the Bronx NY and Mt. Vernon NY area so I mean this is a good central location and if we're lucky we might get some summer weather while we're at it...

Unfortunately I won;t be able to make it either day that weekend but please keep me in the loop of things so that I can see pics if someone wouldn't mind and I would also be interested, as I have said earlier, in forming another meet sometime before winter sets in down here in CT.

IM not going outa my may my family lives in ct so ill be there that weekend. but have to head back up sunday so saturday would be better. but its up to you if you wanna keep it sunday. but saturday would be better .

Is there anyway we could move it back one weekend to the Sept. 7 or 8. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it if it is sept 1 because that is labor day weekend and there is no way I am getting off on that working in retail, especially since I am one of the managers. Let me know.

I didn't even realize Sept. 1st was Labor Day weekend. so I'll postpone the meet to September 7th, a Saturday..

I will make a full details post (separate from this) within a week.

It'll be Saturday, Sept. 7th, 10am - 5pm or so.. I will make a web page soon and post the link.

The only reason for May 7 is I don't want it to interfere with labor day weekend which would be a busy weekend at that park.

Sorry I couldn't make it the 31st.

There will be other meets shortly after I'm sure.

Please reply to THE NEW THREAD also in the NorthEast section of this ProtegeClub forum if you're attending, and state what you're going to be bringing food wise. It will not be very convenient to use the barbeque setup there, so bring cold foods and chips and deli stuff if you'd like, please read the details on that page.

I will provide plates, napkins, cups, silverware, soda. You only need to bring ice (I can't bring it, and it needs to be the edible kind, will be used in soda and drinks) food and snacks for the 10-15 people who will probably show up!
