A meet would be cool but where would we have it?

That would DEFINATELY be nice. We all could meet at the Import Wars in June. Its in Eping, NH, only 30 minutes away from Hampton Beach, and an hour and a half from Boston.

Bruce95fmla May-20th-2002 03:36 PM

what would really kick ass , is if we had a Big Protege meet, in a state Park , somewhat similar to MAPP , but just in new york , there are 2 big parks that we could do it in , there is the Franklin D Roosevelt Park of off the Taconic State Parkway in new york .. or we could have it in the Lake George Park in Lake George new york , wich is about 2 or 3 hours from me , but a bit closer to those from out of state..........
Figure that everyone could bring something , we could have grills , fry up some burgers and dogs, have some volyball nets , get a game going,.. chat chill or whatever....
Also figure that the Franklin D Park has way more parking than the Lake George, as LG is a bit tight , but the have a lot of grass land, something like this we could hold while it is really warm like in July or August ,... post here and let us know what you guys think ....
Bruce

Bruce95fmla May-20th-2002 03:50 PM

for those wondering , this is the park where I think that we can have the meet ,

Bruce
p.s. who is interested in coming

turbonium959 May-20th-2002 04:02 PM

Thats a cool idea, Bruce. For suggestions I also want to add Fort Williams, Cape Elizabeth Maine. Thats where the Portland Head Light is. They hold car shows there every year, they have tons of grass and parking space. Last year I saw really nice older cars. It was an MG Club meeting, I think, but besides tons of small british cars, there were Jaguars V-12 - E-Types, one of the earlier Bentelys, and tons other exotics. I have no clue when it is available, but I can find out.

turbo1g May-20th-2002 04:33 PM

how about Bear Mountain State Park its like 45 minutes from ny so it will be closer to nj too.

Bruce95fmla May-20th-2002 11:38 PM

problem with bear mountain park , is that you can't park next to where the grills are going to be, you have to park and then walk to the grilling area... with Taconic state now, it will be easy for everyone to get to , why ..... 1 you can't get lost ..... and also we stand a good chance of getting the guys from PA , NY , NYC , NJ , CT , and some of the further north guys to come and attend , even Wil from Maryland was thinking about coming on up to the meet..
Bruce

turbo1g May-20th-2002 11:53 PM

i looked for the park and is not that far from nj either so is not that bad

Bruce95fmla May-21st-2002 12:01 AM

figure if we really want to make this slamming we can welcome the ford escorts also , being as they use the same engine , BP and there are a few of them that are pretty darn sweet.... is there anyone else that thinks having this big car meet is a good idea
bruce

ShadeMist May-21st-2002 05:43 PM

anywhere in NY, NYC, NJ, CT is good for me. I would prefer NY but would attend anywhere within a 3 hour drive work permitting ofcourse.

Bruce95fmla May-21st-2002 07:46 PM

thing is , i would like to keep it in ny , cause at least then it is more central and the guys from the north can come out and play and the guys from Jersey , South Jersey and some parts of PA , and also CT can come down ..... As for the date i figure we should do it on a weekend cause that is the best time to do it as most people are off... We have 4 ok's so far , is there anyone else down
bruce
