n00b tint: shops and levels in MA?

Astral is comin' at ya with mad n00b questions... hit it:

1)
I'm looking to get tint for my Pro... I know MA has 35% net laws, but I'm also intending on driving in NY every so often, so I don't want to push it.

Is 70% (light thru) tint worth the money? 50% tint much better? I'm not looking for a dark dark look, ... looking for something that definitely looks better than the factory no-tint.

1.a)
is it worth getting the top couple of inches of the windshield tint? something tells me that can look weird...

2)
Where to get tint in MA? I live in Woostah, but I don't mind a longer drive for a quality job... I'm afraid that if I go to some random place, I'm gonna get bubbly-looking piece of **** tint.

3)
My windows aren't exactly clean... I used some glass cleaner before and it did a shitty job ("Invisible Glass" by Stoner?).. now my wipers haze in rain and road tar sticks more to the windshield and side windows... after three car washes still same ****...

are the windows dirty-ish it going to be a problem for the tint shop or will they clean them up? (and how to clean this crap off the windows anyway?)

4)
[warning, n00b level ultra high!]
just curious, is tint applied on both sides of a window? does it come off when hot or the window is pulled? does it scratch easily?

5)
[n00b n00b]
it looks like the rear window on my Pro LX comes with some tint already? sometimes in sunny weather, i can see some bubbles from the rear view mirror... is that factory applied? are the bubbles unavoidable or does the factory just do a so-so job? how much tint is that anyway?

thanks everyone for their answers and patience!

I got my last two cars tinted at ziebart on shrewsbury. the man there does a great job. got them 43% which is as dark as you can get in MA. they offer a lifetime warr. was 240 ish for the sedan and 260 ish for the Protege 5.

Here are some okay pics that shows the tint. Hope this helps.

You going to the rev it up on the 13'th in foxboro?

should be a great time.

later....

They will clean your windows and the tint is only on the inside.

Don't think they scratch easily. The guy at ziebart is well worth the extra you will pay at another places.

That tint looks nice on your P5!

You think I'm gonna get crap in other states if I go 43%? It seems like it's rare that anybody gets pulled over for tint.

I'm gonna give this guy a shot then, once I get another paycheck

Is it a particular person at Ziebart that does the tint? (Should I ask specifically for him?)

As far as rev it up, yeah, I don't know yet. I have made plans to meet w/ a friend from Texas (meeting in the middle, kind of), so if they don't go thru, I'll probably end up going to Rev it Up. If I do end up going, it'll be Saturday, and not Sunday.

There is one man who does the tint there. You will have no problems in other states. We can meet somewhere if you want to check out my tint in person. Get back to me.......
