sorry to link drop, but I'm lazy....

If I had a way to get it up here for a reasonable price, I'd buy it tonight.

scotty878 January-31st-2006 06:33 PM

Me too, but I dont feel like dealing with that, and still need money to pay off my motorcycle!

Good luck with the sale!

Roddimus Prime January-31st-2006 06:34 PM

mike I'm interested but I would want to have it up and running so I could drive it back.

if it was up and running I wouldnt be selling it so cheap..another reason I'm selling it is I don't have time to fix it....

Roddimus Prime January-31st-2006 07:10 PM

yeah...My wife would be SO pissed if I towed home another project car.

I'm willing to risk it if I can work out the logistics.

Hey Mike, what have you already eliminated from what the problem might be?
Have you experimented by replacing anything?

macdaddyslomo February-1st-2006 02:46 PM

Tried new igniter, new cap & rotor, new disty, checked all wires, checked all fuses and relays...it's narrowed down to a faulty ground, ecu, knock sensor,or knock control unit....the thing I REALLY dont have time for is tracking down a faulty ground..I live in an apt complex and they frown on working on cars, and my brother in law is pissed at me lately so his garage has been off limits

Plus I want to go ahead and start a little seed money for my Protege turbo project, and I'm tired of insuring 3 cars, and trying to mod 2 of them..it's EXPENSIVE..

macdaddyslomo February-3rd-2006 10:43 AM

bump

kargoboy February-3rd-2006 10:49 AM

I'm still thinking about how I can do this w/o spending several hundred $$$ on getting it here...

macdaddyslomo February-3rd-2006 12:12 PM

not a clue...unless you have a truck and get a dolly, and time to come get it, it will cost some money to move it from FLA to PA

kargoboy February-3rd-2006 01:03 PM

My company moves their own co. cars all over the country, so I can get a good deal on that.
But when you think about it, 600.00 to you plus 500.00 to get it here and then figure a worst case scenario of 5-600 to fix? Add it up and I might as well look for one local that runs.

I was seriously thinking of sending you 600 bucks and then paying a towing co. in your area to take it to a local mechanic that you know/trust, tell them to fix it, then fly down and drive it back myself...but then what if it breaks down somewhere in the Okeefenokee Swamp: I'm sodomized and shot in the head by some toothless gay redneck and left to die in a chicken coop...

Roddimus Prime February-3rd-2006 01:43 PM

Gary, you should buy the car and let me fix it up for your future son-in-law. He needs some mazda guidance in his life! Get him off those gay hondas.

Ah yes, but will a local one already have a $400 stage 2 clutch installed with only like 7K miles on it and a full 3" exhaust ??? :)

no biggie, whatever you wanna do gary..I DO know before the ignition problem the car was strong!...a FREAK...I was beating cars in it I had no business beating

Roddimus Prime February-3rd-2006 02:28 PM

Ever since I talked with you about this car Mike I've been on the scout for one to screw with....but the wife is very uninterested in me taking on anymore projects.

macdaddyslomo February-3rd-2006 03:12 PM

Yeah, my wife is tired of seeing it sit there and then seeing the insurance pmt come out every month....Once I get the turbo kit together I'd have no need for it anyway.....I hate to see it go, but I really don't seem to have the time to mess with it, especially with the bug to mod my protege like I've had lately

Hmmm, 630-ish miles from Tampa to Maylene...I'm still thinkin' about it...

My future s-i-l just sold a '98 Civic Hatch with a very similar problem to this MX-6. No spark, he couldn't figure it out...it's ok, though, because the thing was ugly green and had one Altezza and one stock taillight, mismatched rims front and back, no seatbelts (??), fake air scoops on the sides...what a mess.
It was that way when he bought it, though.

He does really like my car, though.

Roddimus Prime February-4th-2006 01:36 AM

Buy Mikes MX6, bring it here. We'll spend the weekend doing it up right. Take it to me paint guy on monday, let him spray it back to new with some clear and then you can drive it back home and charge him $2500 for it! Make him work it off doing chores or something.

You could use some foot rubbins' I'm sure!

Ewwww.

I am going to spend the next few days
1) thinking about how I can do this
2) convincing my wife that it's a good idea.

Roddimus Prime February-4th-2006 02:29 PM

tell her there's a hit out on your life and this is the only way to appease the blood gods.

macdaddyslomo February-9th-2006 09:16 PM

bump................

kargoboy February-16th-2006 04:05 PM

$800.00 to get it to Pittsburgh...I'm sad...

macdaddyslomo February-16th-2006 04:12 PM

'sok..I'm being patient here.....I want it gone, but I don't NEED the money right now...just tired of paying insurance on it..........

Stueck February-16th-2006 04:49 PM

if it was fixed i would think about it.... hard. my gf needs a car and i am going to get her one sooner or later.

OK. I am seriously NOT trying to be a jerk here...but I have said this before...I do NOT have the time to fix this, and if it was running, there is NO WAY i would be selling it for $600...running I could EASILY get $1800 for it locally...

Please guys stop junking up the thread if you dont want to buy the car

macdaddyslomo February-25th-2006 08:31 AM
