0.0% APR - Anyone know the details?

I found out Mazda is having a 0.0% APR on all 2001/2002 cars until January 2nd, 2002.

Now, I am planning to make use of this on the purchase of a 2002 Protege5.

My dad has excellent credit and I'm planning to have him co-sign.

I understand, the "no monthly payments for 6 months" will not work with the 36 months 0.0% APR.

If I'm not interestd in the "no monthly payments for 6 months", is it possible for me to get 0.0% APR for 60 months? If not, what would my APR be?

Also, are they going to charge me some fee for every $1000 financed?

When we got our car they didn't do 0% for 60 instead they did 4.9% this was in Oct so things may have changed but I think it's still the same. Don't know about the fee per 1000 dollars though I thought it was all included in the interest.

I too got my p5 in october and inquired about the 0% apr and the finance guy told me that it only applied to certain model mazdas and not the p5's. So I got the 4.9% as well. . . But i can remember reading a post where someone did get the 0.0%. hmmm. . .

I don't know about October, but for sure now, many places do talk to me about doing the 0.0% apr for Protege5s. They say only for qualified customers, I don't know if they are going to tell me about the 4.9% apr later or not.

I co-signed with my dad. A few years from now I'll have good credit (haven't missed a payment) and I can buy I house, lol (I'll default on the payments with this shitty job I have, hahahahhaha) ;)
Did they charge you any fee for every $1000 financed or something like that?

What happens if you pass 36 months?

Did anybody have to pay a "fee" for every $1000 financed?

If there is a "fee" for every $1000 financed, the "fee" would be included in the calculation of the APR. This has been the case since passage of the Truth in Lending Act of 1968. 0% APR means no fees.

Arg... I'm calling all these different dealerships and they are all telling me different things.

Some say, Protege5s have no 0.0% APR financing.

Some say, 0.0% APR for 42 months, BUT you must pay $27 for $1000 financed

Some say, you have to come in to find out.
