something is ticking in my engine

i cant figure out why but my engine is ticking really loud and im getting low MPG. im really pissed off because its and 08' mazda 3 2.0 and its already f'ed up...... btw i went threw some big water with my mazda a few months ago?????? please help

the car naturally ticks, but for the low MPG check your tire presure.
