Should I or shouldnt I?

Hi,

I am currently driving a 2001 Allroad but its Twin turbos and AWD are killing me at the gas pump so I am deciding for a Mazda 3.

The used car dealer I help out at is selling a 2004 Mazda 3 with 80,000 miles for $6,500 is that a good price?

The options are

Moonroof
5 Speed
2.3 Engine
Leather
HID lights
Factory Nav

I dont know if its a s or touring does not say anywhere.

I read about it being a 1st year model so that aside what do you think?

Thanks
Chris

Okay I am aware all cars guzzle. My previous car was a Supercharged Cadillac STS-V but the Audi gets just as bad mileage with only half the power.

Anyway I am in financial crunch and need a more economical yet enjoyable 4 cylinder car and the mazda 3 wagon seems nice. I have driven alot of the 2.3 and 3.0 mazda 6 at the job but the 3 seems to be more fun and better on gas.

I could afford a used mazdaspeed 3 but that will put in in the same boat i am in now with the twin turbo Audi wagons with fuel use.

What I asked was if i am getting a fair price on the 2004 mazda 3 i asked about and was there anything I need to look out for.

Any other (helpful) replies?

Thanks

Seems like very very little traffic around here are there any more active sites out there?

thats not a bad deal for the hatch. they normally go for more than the sedan since its a lot more desirable. i just picked up a 2006 2.3 s sedan with 58k for 8 grand. i wish i could have found a deal on a hatch like that.

and so you know, my 2.3 5mt with no aftermarket parts aside from an intake is getting between 25 and 35 mpg. a thirty or so dollar fill at 3 a gallon and it gets between 300 and 400 a tank depending on city or highway driving. its nice and decently peppy but nothing compared to either an stsv or a 2.7t lol

$8,000 is a great price for a 2006 2.3 3. They have 2005 2.3 sedan with leather nav moonroof & HID but auto instead of stick for over $9,000. Thye have had about 4 mazda 3s with nav so i am surprised it was a popular option?

I have another thread with pics

Thanks
