New Proud Owner of a 05 Mazda3!!!...Got Some Questions

Hey whatsup Mazda Fam,

I stumble onto this site awhile back ago when I was researching bout the Mazda3 before I decided to get one...& a month later I'm now a proud owner of a 05 Mazda3 S w/ 107000miles.

When I brought the car it was a savage...the side were hit pretty bad & the doors had to get replace. Anyway since the repairs it had driven fine, but since it had a previous owner before me I've really don't know what kind of maintenance have been done to the car...or what kind of maintenance I should do for a new brought car

1. Oil Change: What kind of oil should I use to change it??? Regular or FullSynth??? (Heard FullSynth is the way to go though)

2. Brakes: Any recommendation??? should I do it myself or have a mechanic do it???

3. Spark Plugs: any recommendation???

those are only a few things I have thought about doing...Is there anything else you guys would recommend??? like a full tune up kinda thing so I wouldn't have much to worry bout later down the line except an oil change every 3000-5000 miles

Hi. I'm also new. Have an 05 3s bought new, and just getting to 60k miles. sounds as if you're ride has had a rough life to date.

i use full synth, have used Mobil 1 in all my cars new or used since sometime in the 80s when i belonged to SCCA and Mobil gave a presentation to the club. have never regretted it, never had an oil-related px. mostly my car has been trouble free, recently replaced a low-beam headlight, seemed harder than it should have been. came upon this site while googling for tips on that. I do my own front brakes but leave the rears to the pros. it's just what easy for me as i get older.

don't race, but love to push my girl through the back road twisties. good luck, i'm very happy with my 3, consider it the best car i've ever owned, and my first car was a 1962 Olds 88. Have owned various makes of mostly small cars and sports cars. own a 92 Miata as well. Thoroughly Mazdafied now, I guess.
