NA Build
So I am a camaro fanboy but I picked up this mazda3 and I like the way it drives. Its not fast but I think it would be a great car for AutoX. I use my camaro for drag. But I want to mod a different car for now. How much HP could you see from building these motors? I see there is a pretty big aftermarket for engine parts. I have searched around and havent found any real answers. What is a safe compression ratio to put on pump gas? I have also been looking at some cams. I know crower makes some. Where else can I find cams and does anyone know the specs? Help me compile a shopping list.
Thanks. |
sorry forgot to mention
2006 mazda3 2.3l thanks again. |

Just a tip, I wouldn't start off with that. :winky:
Why because he used the word Camaro, get real. |

Wish I could help, but I know crap about building an engine. If you can't find any help here, try Mazda 24/7. A good site like this, but a bit larger and a little more active.

There isn't a whole lot as far as an N/A build
I would start with a F2 Intake (good for future mods, due to 3" piping) Then I would focus on Exhaust, Race Pipe, Header, Timing Mod, Grounding kit, and BSD. Then for extreme I would get a Microtech Standalone, Cosworth Intake Manifold, Ranger crankshaft, and focus on perhaps higher compression, etc... |
