mazda 3/speed swap?

Hey, I'm a noob here with mazdas, and was looking to turbo my 08 mazda 3. Instead of going the route of all bolt-ons I am looking into swapping in a mazdaspeed engine. I can do the swap myself and I found an engine/ecu to buy, but am wondering if the engine and ecu will mate up with the automatic trans in my car. Any information or guidance to other threads already covering this topic would be much appreciated. thanks.

Are you going to reinforce the transmission to handle the extra power?

at the very least i will upgrade the torque converter and valve body....i am just worried that the ecu and engine wont work with the auto trans...i want to be able to bolt the new engine up...plug in the ecu and drive problem free...

no, you will need to get the mazdaspeed transmission as well. and i will tell you that you are probably better off just selling your car and getting a speed 3 instead of this swap because your gonna need to spend a lot of money to get it to work right. you will also need motor mounts, you will have to get a front mount intercooler because the stock top mount will not fit with your hood. and i dont think that a speed 3 hood will fit on your car. you will need a better exaust as well.

:wiggle: so the final answer is no way to swap speed engine in m3 right even with transmission? i mean take out stock engine with transmission and just change mounts and exhaust and some other small things and put speed engine in :)
