Mazda 3 (06 diesel) starting problems
Hey Guys,
First time poster, sorry if my google/search fu is not so strong I have a diesel Mazda 3 that I recently bought (Garage are useless and warrantee is gone on it) it has recently starting giving starting problems. Example : I could start it in the morning, have no light warnings and it will go all day, I will then stop it for 15~ mins, and it will refuse to start (cranks like a sucker but no start), the only 'cure' seems to disconnect the battery completely for 20 odd mins and then try again. Interstingly, a quick eye from a friendly mechanic noticed that when it cranked it didnt suck diesel into the engine (not sure if its still doing this tbh). I have to mention this test was with a hose and a bottle full of fresh diesel. What I thought it was that the fuel pump was knackered but its going fine WHEN it starts, seems it has a life of its own and due to it, its a nightmare to rely on. Thought it was dirty fuel (got new filter), then constant airlocks, no luck. The latest thought is that it MAY be the purge valve but I have had it start fine after filling bar once where it refused to start for a bit. 'Seems' to be it needs to cool down, but then some sensor might be in a fault position that tells the engine not to start, so clearing its current cache memory if you will, 'frees' it up and she starts. Is that a million miles of the mark?? lol |
