Intake

I have a 2006 Mazda3 2.3L, and I'm looking for a intake that doesn't cost much, and I found on ebay a Bomz Intake. Has anybody tried this intake and tell me if they felt an increase in power or MPG. I like it because of where the filter is placed because it is difficult for water to get to the filter. If some one knows another intake that doesn't cost much, please tell.

Most quality intakes will run you about $200 to $300. Any intake other than K&N, AEM, Fujita, or Injen I would be cautious. Just my 2 cents.

i recomened the mazda cold air intake kit. it runs about 250- 300. but you dont need to worry about oiling the filter. it is made of cotton. i my self have it on my car. it is the best i have seen so far.

which would be the best SRI according to anyone who reads this thread, that doesn't cost like $300. I've seen some SRI from HPS on ebay and they come with a heat shield. Look it up on ebay an tell me what you think of it.

i took a look at them. any cold air intake works but the problem i noticed when i worked at mazda, is that the ones with the oiled filter tened to have issuses with the map malfuctioning. due to the oil build up on sensor. if you done clean it every 3-5000 miles with a map cleaner or it will short out. mazda's intake is a dry filter witch you wash every 30000 miles let it dry and put it back on. it also has a heat shield too. it is up to you but some times it is better to go with the expensive one on this. a map runs at least 150 for it.
