Sorry, dont know everything about engines, i just like makin the car look good! anyways, what's the best way to gain more horspower without emptying my account.

Roddimus Prime September-29th-2005 05:14 PM

you're going to get all sorts of answers you're not going to like...so I'm going to give them all to you right now...

1. You shoulda bought a faster car to begin with.

2. No such thing as cheap power

3. save your money and pay yuour car off faster...then buy a toy car

4. FI is really the only way to go on these right now and it's NOT cheap.

"How fast it goes and how good it looks depends on the size of your pocket books."

ur right, i didn't like what u said..but im also only 18 and just messin around with the mods

Roddimus Prime September-29th-2005 05:28 PM

best thing you could do for yourself is to pay your car off as FAST AS POSSIBLE....every spare penny you get put it towards your car note. Do this and you'll build credit so fast it'll make your head spin. Also, you pay your car off faster and basically save those payments. save that compounded interest( unless your interest is simple)...also, paying it off earlier means your car has more value when it's paid off...if you pay it off in 4 years instead of 5 you owe $0 on a car thats worth more.

lhsguy721 September-29th-2005 05:31 PM

i understand all of that 100% but my dad bought the car for me...i got lucky with that...i just pay for the stuff i do to it.

Roddimus Prime September-29th-2005 05:42 PM

If you don't have a car payment to make then your next bet is to save every penny you make and wait until a lot more aftermarket selection is available. Right now there is only one turbo kit, no supercharger, nothing but intake header and catback.

Save up as much as you can and once new parts come out and people have started reviewing them THEN you can drop a wad of cahs and buy something nice upfront.

p.s. not stereotyping you but NO'ONE has ever done this the correct way...

lhsguy721 September-29th-2005 07:15 PM

that was kinda my plan, but thanx for the help.
by the way, do u run this site? bc u reply to everyone and everthing--its kinda cool

Roddimus Prime September-30th-2005 10:13 AM

technically yes, but the site pretty much runs itsself. I'm just the biggest postwhore here....i always chime in on everything....

macdaddyslomo September-30th-2005 10:23 AM

Don't bother on intake, headers, and exhaust if you plan on going turbo.....you'll just waste money because it will all need to be changed out for a turbo application

Thank GAWD my car is finally paid off in feb so I can do get some real horsepower

Roddimus Prime September-30th-2005 10:28 AM

SEE!!! thats how you do it!

p.s. mine isn't paid off but i've got about $10K sunk in related car crap...most of it is the supercharger though. also the new one should be here within a few weeks or so...going to make some noise and turn some heads I'd bet.
