Coolant leak, at what looks like exchange box: top, back, driver`s side. What is it?

What is it and is it a beast to replace /fix, or maybe just clamps or hose replacement?

I don't think coolant lines run to the drivers side, a pic would help.
what year / engine / mileage?

djs2571,

Thanks for the reply. Duh, I should have supplied that info. 2007, 3i, about 100k. I found it`s called a Water Outlet Housing. It has one large hose coming in from the front and 1 small hose coming into the back from the heater at the firewall. 1 other small hoses coming into the back and another small hose coming into the bottom.

It`s attached to the block, right across from and below the battery box. The leak is not a hose and looks like it`s the gasket, so I added some stop leak. It looks like a beast to get to, so I hope that does the trick.

[/ QUOTE]
