CAI vs Cat back exhaust
Hey guys, I want to upgrade from stock, can only afford one or the other, which would give me the better gain for the money? and Which would be easier to install? Considering either Borla cat back or K&N CAI. . .
|
A CAI would be much easier to install, it's just less parts, less rusty bolts to fight with, etc.
As for gains, the catback would be closer to 4-5 hp, where the CAI is more like 2-4, so it's really just a personal preference. The exhaust is more work, but at least you get looks with it. |
lets see......
both the exhaust and intake will increase ur gas mileage. they both sound nice. the intake is cheaper tho, and easily installed in ur driveway. the exhaust sounds nicer tho.... |
I vote for exhaust first.
CAI is easier to install, but I say a nice exhaust is a better beginner mod than an intake. |
Just remember that they work well as a combo, letting the car breathe better. Couldn't hurt to plan both mods.
|
Now, if I got the exhaust, what precautions would I have to take when dealing with the PZEV junk? and what kind of equipment would I need to install it?
Also, would you guys recommmend the Borla and K&N? or are there better brands? |
Aren't catbacks illegal in MA? I know they (along with CT) were pushing those laws through
|
nope, we shut the bill down,
