2005 mazda 3 auto tranny - 2003 protege 5
I understand both have the same transmission codes. However, I picked up a mazda 3 tranny and there is an extra single pin connector. Does anyone know what this is for?

Wait, they are seriously using the same transmission?
that makes me think that the Mazdaspeed3 transmission.. in the Protege5.. might somehow be doable. Do you have the tranmission in the car or not yet because of that connector? Here's one thing I'm thinking it could be. Vehicle speed sensor. If your Protege5 has ABS, it uses the ABS sensors for the speedometer/odometer, not a speedo gear and vehicle speed sensor. If the 3 didn't, it would have the sensor :) |
