Winter tires?
 

OK....first year in my '07 M3 with its Goodyear 'all-season' tires. They don't look snow-season to me. How do these Mazdas work in the winter? I traded my 4 wheel drive Tacoma for this car. Love the car, but wonder about my future driving fun here in snow country of Pennsylvania.

No all-season is ever gonna be as good as a snow tire. Best thing I ever did was start running summer and winter tires.

The stock GoodYear Eagle RS-A is a horrible tire even on dry road. I can't imagine what it'll be on snow...

No snow here in the bay area (CA) so I can't recommend any

I'd get the Blizzak Revo-1 on that list. they are great snow tires, my roommate (from PA) has them on his Volvo (rear wheel drive) and it's great in the horrible Rochester winters.

Bought the Blizzaks....went with 16" wheels. Shipped from Tirerack today so willhave to wait a few days. It snowed here this week and the Goodyear tires just sliiiiiiidd. most totally worthlless 'all season' tire I have ever had on a vehicle!

Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D, they're great. I've had Bizzak m2 or 3's ?, ws-50, dunlop ds1 and ds2 and a few more. So far the SP Winter Sport 3d are the best! and TIRERACK IS THE BEST FOR BUYING TOO!!!!!

winter 'sport' tires work great if you aren't dealing with deep snow and blizzard conditions, or if your area is one to shut down if there's heavy snow. Here, there isn't even a chance of school closing unless the entire city electrical grid is down for a few days due to the weather so a more serious snow tire is needed (i.e. WS-50).

Well, from living in the country setting of Wisconsin my whole life, the i haven't had a problem with deep snow and the dunlop 3d. But i can see where a skinner ws50 would work in deep unplowed snow.

The Goodyear RSAs are horrible in the snow. I figured I would spend the $ on my deductible after a wreck or on snow tires. I have Blizzak REVOs on my '05 M3 - the 205/55R16s. They are awesome on the snow. I used to have WS-50s on my last car. Blizzaks are just plain squirrelly on dry pavement. But they are great on the snow and pretty good on ice. I am thankful for good traction now but I am looking forward to getting my summer tires back on in the spring for the "zoom, zoom" factor.

Yeah the REVO is basically on par with the WS-50, I think they worked on them to enhance ice traction or something? That's what my roommate has on his rwd volvo and it's great in the snow with them.

On dry pavement it feels dangerous driving on blizzaks, especially if you install them after a summer on really tiny potenzas :P
