Tire pressure
got the 2.3sport with the 17" rims and was surprised to see that the tires take 44psi.
Anyone else think this is kinda high? I figured 35ish would be good. |
The dealer always sets mine to 32. I don't think they should be set to 44
I think it says: "max pressure 44 psi"
Ya it does. So aren't you supposed to use that? There is no other posted PSI on the tire that I can see.
Avg tire pressure should be around 32-35 psi, for maximum thread life. You can inflat it to 44 psi without any problems but going above the maximum amount can burst your tire (worst case scenerio).
Open your drivers door and look on the bottom of the door...not the door jam, but the door itself. There should be a little sticker...im almost 110% positive it says 32 PSI.
The PSI rating on the tire is the maximum PSI that the tire can handle.
If you fill it completely to 44psi, the car will ride like a rock. You'll want to keep it at about 34 to 35 psi... I've found that the care handles REALLY well with the psi right around that point. I've done some testing on the tires with my own little "street course" i have here in Wisconsin that I used when I was testing my new tires I bought for my old sentra. At about 32 psi (manufacture recommended) the tires slip a little easier around those REALLY tight corners. Another 3 to 4 psi really makes the difference, I noticed the tires really shine at high speeds and tight cornering. I want to go AUTOxing this year with this car (did it the last 2 years in my sentra) and see how well the stock tires handle... they won't obviously be as nice as my Nitto's on the sentra, but so far I'm really impressed with the handling of them. I hope this helped! |
I run mine at about 35 PSI .... works great. handles nice.
I agree. I've got mine at about 35 psi and it handles great. I wouldn't push it up to 44.
44psi is the max you should put that much, anyways i run mines at 35 to.
