Unhappy Speed Governor must Die!

So I was driving down highway 101 and I decided to top out my car. So I got to 117mph in 4th gear and the governor cut the power for a second so I shifted into 5th to see what would happen and the car just held 117mph...

My question is does anybody know how to override the governor?

My car is a n 06' 3 HB 2.3L does anybody know what the engine iscapable of without the governor in effect?

Need an ECU tune or piggyback system to disable top speed limiter. Though on a speed 3 it doesnt kick in until 155...

Cobb port tuner

There is a device called the Cobb tuning Access Port Tuner. You can remove your speed limiter with this and no you do NOT need a piggy back system to do this once you program it, the system can be unplugged and your settings will stay,But there is a catch.....It only works on the North American models. You just connect it to your OBD-II port. Hope this helps.

has it been proven to work with N/A 3's? Last I saw and read about was that the AccessPort was only available for Speed3's

I'm pretty sure you can download maps for the N/A model

And your signature says " drive it like you stole it " means no faster than 45 mph?

Come on man, why would you even ask that kind of question?

There is a way how to turn it off, just need to know which wire to cut that connects in to TB and there you go, no speed limit

I don't need it myself, since I have a Speed3 and go plenty fast (Also have a Cobb AP for my RX-8, just gotta get the Speed3 maps), BUT do you know which wire that would be for reference?

I'm sure some of the regular 3 peeps would love to know. Plus, it's just good info to share.
